Welcome to your vacation! A deck. A drink. The sound of ocean waves. Massive live oaks all around you offer sweet shade. When you’re ready for sun, walk 90 seconds down a quiet street to beach access. Or walk 3 min the other way to the sound side for a public boat launch, fishing area, sunset-watching spot, and fantastic playground. Shops & restaurants are a 5-min drive.
*Optional apartment add-on expands the space to accommodate 12.

- Large deck with outdoor seating under shady live oaks
- Fully equipped kitchen

- Open floor plan is ideal for family and friends gathering

- We are the 5th house off the ocean, with no busy roads to cross to get to the beach
- A short walk to the public boat launch, which also has a fishing dock and a great playground for kids
- 4 bedrooms - 2 downstairs, 2 upstairs
- 3 full bathrooms (you'll really appreciate that extra bathroom when everyone wants to shower after the beach!)
- One block to a bike path that runs length of the island -- hop on your bike and take a ride to get donuts or tacos
- Restaurants and shops are a 5 minute drive
- Pet friendly (with pre-approval + pet fee)
- There’s a gate on the deck to allow pets to be safely outside with you on the deck
**NOTE: There is a one-bedroom, one-bathroom apartment underneath the main house in the ground level with its own separate entrance. If you are renting the house and need extra space, send us a message for a discounted rate to add on the apartment.

Guest access
It's a quiet neighborhood with no busy roads, nice for walks and relaxing. One block away is the bike path that follows Emerald Drive the entire length of the island. There is no public parking for the beaches, so the only people who use the beach are residents and guests in the neighborhood. At the house there is a driveway with enough space for several cars and a boat.
Other things to note
At the house for you to use:
- Toilet paper and paper towels
- Dishwasher and detergent
- Washer and dryer
- Sheets and bath towels
- Pillows
- Kitchen supplies
- Large TV in living room with streaming services
- Spectrum high speed WiFi
Bring your own beach stuff:
- Beach towels
- Beach chairs and umbrellas
- Bikes - or you can rent them on the island
- Fishing gear
- Boogie boards, floaters, sand toys, etc
- Sun block
At the property:
There’s poison ivy on Emerald Isle, including our yard and neighbors. We’ve taken steps to get rid of it but it still pops up especially in the heavily wooded areas of the yard. Please be aware!
Please note:
We are in the South, at the beach, surrounded by trees, and we don’t like to use strong chemicals and pesticides around our house—so you are likely to see some critters while at the house. In addition to many songbirds and squirrels, we occasionally see opossum, mice, and deer in the yard. You will almost certainly see some spiderwebs around and cockroaches, especially if you’re outside on the deck at night. Once in a while, one makes its way inside the house. They look creepy, but they're harmless.
If you want to stop at a grocery store on your way in, there’s a Lowes Foods in Cape Carteret just before the bridge, and a Publix and Food Lion on the island just over the bridge. There are ABC liquor stores near each of the grocery stores. No

Neighbourhood highlights
The street is quiet and tree-lined. The next door neighbors are full-time residents. The beaches here are quiet and not at all crowded, as there is no public parking nor large hotels/condos nearby. There's almost zero traffic. It's the perfect get-away spot to unwind and enjoy the sea breezes. When you're ready for more activity and fun, the restaurants, shops, and mini-golf are just 2-3 miles drive.

I grew up going to my grandfather’s house near the ocean, and I cherish the memories of so many family vacations there. It makes me happy to be able to offer our house in Emerald Isle for families to connect, relax, laugh, eat good food and create special memories they will have for a lifetime. My husband and I live in Durham NC and come to Emerald Isle as often as we can. We have 6 kids, including twin boys born in 2021.
