The space
Scilla is one of the most renowned tourist resorts on the Calabrian Tyrrhenian coast; the beach is bordered by imposing rocks dominated by the Castello dei Ruffo di Calabria, which plunges into the sea, making the landscape quite suggestive. The crystal clear waters and the seabeds rich in marine flora and fauna are an authentic paradise for scuba diving enthusiasts.

The location of the attic is particularly privileged and gives the view emotions that remain in the heart, especially at sunset and dusk, when the sky and the sea are dyed purple, from which the name Costa Viola derives. Enjoying an aperitif on the terrace with friends at sunset after a day at the beach has no equal ... you will no longer want to go anywhere else, it will be so pleasant to dine in the splendid setting of the evocative lights of the village and the Strait.

Particularly suggestive from the attic is the view of the famous fireworks on the occasion of the feast of San Rocco, patron saint of the village.

It often happens to be lucky enough to witness the show of the passing of the dolphins. Often there is also the passage of the characteristic boats for swordfish fishing (hunting), which are still visible at the port of Scilla, just behind the Castle a few steps from the Marina and the house.

Other things to note
Paid parking about 200 meters from the house, in the July-August period it is recommended to reserve a parking space given the lack of parking spaces in the village. Once the reservation is made we will provide the contact of the affiliated car park.

Neighbourhood highlights

The penthouse is right in the heart of Via Marina Grande di Scylla and, therefore, practically on the beach. The Marina Grande is the tourist area of Scylla and is in fact served by numerous restaurants, mainly seafood, bars, ice cream parlours and seaside resorts. The Strait of Messina is famous for its swordfish fishing, which is still practiced in Scylla on characteristic boats. Typical of the place is in fact the sandwich with swordfish that is offered in different variants. Artisanal ice cream and granite, which are part of the food and wine culture of the entire province of Reggio calabria, are also an experience not to be missed!
Finally, not to be missed is the visit to the village of Chianalea, which lies behind the Castle and can be reached on foot from the house; it is an ancient fishing village with small houses overlooking the sea and boats moored in the alleys; already defined by many national magazines as one of the most beautiful villages in Italy and often approached with the image of a small Venice.
