About this listing

This updated top floor duplex is located in one of Wallingford's charming turn-of-the-century homes. It sits on a quiet street with a private entrance, tall ceilings, hardwood floors, and a gorgeous views of Downtown across Lake Union.

The space

The living area has seating for 4, dining for 4, French doors leading to a balcony, a large flat-panel TV set with cable and Roku, and a lovely view of the Seattle skyline across Lake Union. The balcony has an electric smoker, grill and small table with seating for 2. The large kitchen is fully stocked. A hallway leads to a laundry room, full bathroom, and private bedroom.

The bedroom features a comfortable queen-sized bed, a walk-in closet, and a desk. The living room has an uncommonly comfortable queen-size sleeper sofa with a thick foam mattress. This unit sleeps 4 adults comfortably.

Guest access

If you are not already familiar with Wallingford, you are in for a treat. The house is located within 6 blocks of some of the best restaurants, coffee shops, storefronts, parks, and sights that Seattle has to offer. Walk to Lake Union, Gasworks Park, the Burke-Gilman Trail, Fremont, the University of Washington and more.

We are a 2-minute drive to 99 (Aurora), 5 minutes to I-5, and 5-10 minutes to the 520 bridge. This provides the perfect commute to locations throughout Seattle and the East side. Street parking is available, and a dedicated driveway is available upon request.

Interaction with guests

The unit is entirely private and you should feel free to interact with us as much or as little as you desire. We enjoy having guests and meeting people from every region and walk of life, but we also respect your privacy. My family splits our time between the downstairs (Garden) unit, our South Seattle home, and a sailboat in Ballard. I am always available to answer any questions you may have or suggest fun activities in Seattle and the Puget Sound.

Other things to note

We offer a very well-stocked kitchen. You would be hard-pressed to find it lacking anything, even if cooking a Thanksgiving dinner. We also offer child-friendly plastic eating utensils and toys/books for a wide range of ages. A crib and high chair are available upon prior request.

Also, please note that the air conditioner is a portable a/c unit installed in the bedroom. Seattle homes do not have central air conditioning.

This is a lovely, clean, and quiet upstairs 1 bedroom in a pleasant, walkable neighborhood. The apartment was well equipped with everything we needed and check-in, check-out instructions were very clear. The balcony gave us a perfect view for fireworks over Lake Union on the 4th. We would be happy to stay again.

The apartment is clean and comfortable! The unit is well stocked with everything a family may need- including toys for the kiddos! I prefer neighborhoods like Wallingford when I visit Seattle. In addition to being more peaceful than downtown, you can still walk to restaurants, bars, shops, playgrounds, etc… The apartment is also well connected to public transportation, and downtown is a direct trip. Although there is no need to have a car, if you do drive to Seattle a guest pass for free street parking is available. Both nights I was able to secure a spot directly outside of the apartment. Samantha was an excellent host. Definitely would stay here again.

Wallingford Sky Terrace was an ideal spot for our family's one-week visit in Seattle. We appreciated how well-stocked the kitchen was for cooking together as a family, there was room for us to stretch out and relax, and my husband and I both the bed very comfortable. Our son slept on the sofa bed in the living room, and he said that was comfortable as well. One of the highlights of staying at Samantha's place was sitting on the patio with a cup of coffee or glass of wine, enjoying the beautiful view of the Seattle skyline. We loved exploring the Wallingford neighborhood, including walking to Gas Works Park then grabbing lunch or a pastry at Essential Baking. Samantha was very responsive whenever we had a question about the apartment or about things to do in the area. Highly recommend, and we would stay there again.

What more can be said that hasn't already been said? Samantha's place is one of those places where you truly feel at home and don't want to leave. My family was so comfortable here and by the end of their trip, they were sad to leave and say goodbye to the beautiful view and cozy living space.

This was truly a hidden gem and we were fortunate to find this place for our stay. Location is amazing in many ways: from the living room there is a portrait view of entire downtown Seattle, few minutes walk to Gas works park and few minutes walk to shops and restaurants on the 45th street (downtown Wallingford). Place itself is very spacious, fully equipped kitchen and quite neighborhood made it just the perfect stay. I will definitely stay here again on my next trip to Seattle.

Samantha User ProfileSamantha is a superhost.

I have been in Seattle for almost 20 years, and my husband grew up in Portland. Together, we can answer any questions you may have or suggest fun activities in Seattle, Portland, and the Puget Sound.

We live on a vintage sailboat and we spend time at each of our listings: Portland is our second home, the Hideaway is home to our art studio, and Wallingford is our stomping ground.

We spend our spare time raising an amazing family, making and appreciating arts and crafts, and roaming the Puget Sound region with our kiddos.
