Teignmouth Town and Beach - All year round the seafront and long sandy beach are just wonderful to stroll along or sample one of the many cafes or bars on the "Den". The town has many large well known shops but also has an "arts quarter" filled with galleries, craft shops and seafood cafes and takeaways.

Smugglers Tunnel - right next to Shaldon Zoo is a tunnel leading through the "Ness" cliff to Smugglers beach. Approx 200 years old it is rumoured to have helped smugglers transport their goods from ships.

Dartmouth Steam Railway – Travel back in time on a scenic trip along the river Dart

Waves Leisure Pool – Ideal for rainy days, this huge pool complex has slides, waves and flumes with an in-house restaurant.

Right outside the door;
If you turn left outside the entrance gate you can walk via the country lane up the hill to the next village Bishopsteignton - grab lunch and sample some local wines at Old Walls Vineyard (right at the bottom of the lane on your right) or The Ring of Bells Inn - (walk a little further into the village and you'll spot it on the left.)

Turn right outside the gate - take a stroll across the bridge to Shaldon and enjoy breakfast at the Clipper overlooking the water or lunch at The Ness House Hotel (right next door to the zoo). You could then jump on the the Shaldon ferry to Teignmouth and enjoy a cold drink on the back beach from one of the many pubs whilst watching the sun go down.

During your stay

Hi I'm Clare, thanks so much for checking out our little barn. My husband Paul and I live in the main house a little way from Clearwater View and are always really happy to help in any way to make your stay just perfect. Whether it's "where's the best pub to watch the rugby?" or "we love our seafood, where do you recommend? " we can usually steer you in the right direction. I was born in Teignmouth over 50 years ago so I'm about as local as it gets and take a huge amount of pride in showing off everything our area has to offer. Simply text, email or call us on the contact number provided or you can just pop into the log cabin office next door - there's always someone there during office hours who can help.
