Great location
100% of recent guests gave the location a 5-star rating.
Be prepared for a very special stay! We've recently bought, beautifully renovated and refurnished the cottage. The interior oozes character with beamed ceilings, sumptuous velvet furnishings, and the sights and sounds of the sea on the doorstep.

3 lovely pubs nearby, local shop 5 min drive, Truro & Falmouth 15 mins drive. Ideally located to explore beaches on north & south coasts.

From Easter - end September we run 7 night minimum stays with changeover day on Fridays. At other times min 3 nts.

The space
Ideal for a family, couples or a small group of friends, the cottage is the middle one in a terrace of 3 traditional Cornish cottages built in 1860, located 50m from the sea, opposite the village orchard with the village green at the rear.

From the front door, you'll only need to walk a few paces to Point Quay to sit on one of the waterside benches for the most wonderful views right next to the sea (when the tide is in). The Quay is a haven for children and adults alike. You can jump into the sea or go crabbing, it’s ideal for kayaking and paddleboarding (both can be borrowed during your stay), and the start of some fabulous scenic walks and cycles in our Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. You can find out more about what's nearby, a little further down this page.

Our calendar is always up to date
Please send your booking request and I'll reply almost straight away. During peak season we run 7 night minimum stays with changeover day on Fridays.

Secret Weekender
Surprise your loved one with a romantic Cornish Seafood themed weekend break at our gorgeous boutique styled cottage in Point, with a table for 2 already booked on the Saturday night at Cornwall's hottest ticket seafood restaurant; the Wheelhouse Crab and Oyster Bar. There's normally a 2-3 month waiting list for a table. Dates available in November: Fri 5th & Fri 12th.

About the cottage
As you enter, you'll walk into the cosy living room with 3 seater sofabed (will sleep 2 children or 1 adult comfortably), double sofa, 2 beanbags, plus plenty of cushions to keep you comfy.
You have views to the water, a log burner for cosy evenings in the glow of the fire, and TV/65 Mb/s wifi.

Next you’ll walk through to the dining room which is open plan to the kitchen. The farmhouse dining table seats 6, and the kitchen has all you could need; new Smeg electric hob and oven/grill, Bialetti moka pot and milk frother for the best Cornish coffees, kettle, toaster, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and washer/drier. You’ll also find a WC downstairs.

The back door leads up to the private decking area with BBQ and table and chairs for al fresco entertainment. The deck then leads up to the pretty cottage garden.

Upstairs you’ll find the first bedroom with a really comfy king size bed and lovely sea view. The second bedroom has 2 singles that can also be made up as a king size, en-suite WC, and patio doors leading out onto the deck. The new bathroom with shower and WC is between the bedrooms.

Due to the really thick stone walls and double glazing throughout, the cottage is lovely and cool in the summer, and toasty warm in the winter with thermostatically controlled heating in each room.

There is parking outside for 1 car and a few steps away by the village green for more.

There is storage available for bikes or boards in the long garden shed.

Cot and highchair are available on request.

Let us know if you arriving late and we can pop a chef cooked ready meal in the oven and fire up the wood burning stove to welcome you.

Where you’ll be

Truro, Cornwall, United Kingdom

The lovely waterside scenery of the hamlet of Point is ever changing with the tide as the estuary fills with sea water and empties twice a day. With Point Quay adjacent to the cottage, this is truly a stunning location. The Quay is ideal for swimming, crabbing, and for launching kayaks and paddle boards which can be borrowed during your stay.

A 5 min drive away and you are at Loe Beach where there is a lovely cafe and a watersports centre (hire/lessons) for adults and kids including sailing, windsurfing and some amazing paddleboard and kayak exploration.

The estuary leads onto the sailing waters of The Carrick Roads and out to Falmouth, St Mawes, and The Roseland Peninsula. Truro and Falmouth are only 15 mins drive away, and the wonderful beaches on the North Coast are only 20-30 mins away. The quiet and beautiful hidden beaches of the Roseland are easily reachable via the King Harry chain ferry which is 5 mins drive away.

There is a Spar shop 5 mins drive away that has fresh bread and local produce, a great butcher, and chef prepared ready meals if you're feeling too relaxed to cook.

There are 3 pubs nearby, the Old Quay Inn (1 mile walk), the Punchbowl and Ladle (5 min drive), and the Pandora Inn on the other side of the creek that is reachable by kayak or paddleboard in 20 mins from the Quay at high tide for a real adventure.

There are plenty of footpaths and walks (dog friendly) nearby, including to National Trust Trelissick House and Loe Beach.

We're also at the start of the Bissoe Cycle Trail from Devoran to Portreath. So if you have your own bikes you can cycle right to the North Coast mainly off road on the old mining trail. Bikes are available to hire at the Bissoe Bike Chain Cafe/Shop (5 miles away).
