Our charming duplex is in a small, private development, with communal pool, (open in summer) & tennis court. It's perfect for a couple or four people. We have two terraces with fabulous views - the upper is totally private; the lower is not private. We have designated parking. This is our home from home and we love it. Our Wi-Fi is 'pay as you go'. We have no air conditioning, central heating nor dishwasher, although portable air con units are available on request. A car is recommended.
A private development, completed in 2005, with stunning panoramic views. 3 bedrooms (Master has King size bed; 2nd bedroom has twin beds which can be pushed together to form a 160cm double bed & the 3rd has bunk beds). All rooms have very comfortable beds and, mostly, Egyptian cotton bed linen. Ideal for a couple with children over 5: it is unsuitable for very young children because of open plan internal stairs. Although the apartment sleeps 6, it is perfect for a couple, or for 4 adults, or 2 adults with 2 children/teenagers maximum. We recommend it for a maximum of 4 people, because the living space isn't very large. There is a Wi-Fi connection - super download speed costs €20 per week. Connection instructions are simple to follow.
Access to entire apartment, designated parking, private upper terrace with sunbeds & lower terrace (which adjoins our neighbours' terraces) for eating, communal pool (when open), tennis court (not suitable for serious players because of lack of back-run) & storage room. The kitchen has a washing machine, electric hob, microwave, toaster, kettle, large fridge/freezer - please note we have neither an oven nor a dishwasher.
The WiFi connection is 'pay as you go'. It costs €20 for super speed downloads for 7 days. Log on & payment instructions are easy to follow.
Interaction with guests
We are non-residents. Maxine, a delightful English woman who speaks some Spanish, looks after the apartment. If required, Maxine will meet our guests and show them the apartment, unless keys & instructions have been supplied in advance.
If you are staying longer than two weeks, Maxine will make an arrangement to come and clean the apartment and you must pay her in euros, in cash. This ensures that the apartment is maintained to a certain standard. If you require the apartment to be cleaned more often during your stay, please make a private arrangement with Maxine. For long stays, Maxine will collect bed linen fortnightly and you will be required to cover the cost of professionally laundering.
Other things to note
In our private store room behind our parking bay you'll find a beach parasol, some fold up chairs & beach rolls. There's also an old sunbed which you can take to the pool.
There are several pairs of scuba shoes in the wardrobe of the bunk bedroom.
Wi-Fi is pay as you go.
Lots to do within easy reach - Malaga (Picasso Museum); Granada (Alhambra); Nerha (the caves) and sandy beach; play tennis in Almunecar (book at the sports stadium) - there are two tennis rackets (and balls) in the apartment and 2 pairs of tennis shoes (39 and 40.5); or take a class at one of the gyms in town; experience the Water Park; go skiing in the Sierra Nevada; scuba diving or charter a boat trip in the marina; hang gliding - contact the owner of Hostal California on the N340; horse riding; walking or trekking; swimming in the pool; or in the sea, or just chill out &, of course, enjoy eating and drinking in lots of great bars and restaurants, or at home. Just sit on the lower terrace and watch the day go by...
Please look after our home from home and leave it as you find it.
Please don't eat and drink when you are sitting on the cream sofa.
We only permit smoking outside on the terrace.
No glass on the upper terrace & please don't take the bath towels down to the pool or to the beach - we provide beach towels!
On departure day, please strip the beds and put all dirty bed linen and towels in the bath so we know what's been used and what hasn't.
Please put all your rubbish in the basura shed on the road and leave the apartment as you found it!
We hope you enjoy your stay.
