Peace and quiet

We started building the granny annexe in 2018 for our parents future home. As they are not at that stage yet we have decided to rent it out for now. There's plenty of space for two, but we have a sofa bed in the lounge, so it can sleep four. There is a wet room with shower downstairs and ensuite with Victoria & Albert freestanding bath upstairs. We are well positioned to explore the area being on the South Staffs, Shropshire and Worcestershire border and of course Kinver Edge.

The space
The granny annexe is modern and comfortable in design. You have your own front door which opens into a galley kitchen with full sized cooker with double oven and hob, washing machine, microwave , fridge, freezer, all you need. Continental breakfast welcome pack is provided along with tea, coffee and fresh milk. Lounge area with corner sofa bed, Smart TV, please use your own with logins for any streaming services. Upstairs is a loft style bedroom with two dormers and low based double divan bed, wardrobe and drawer space. You are welcome to use the back garden and relax on the garden furniture. This space is also used by us. We have a front patio with rattan furniture above the driveway you can also use. On the drive there is a designated guest parking space, bay 1. This is height restricted at 1.95m due to the patio above. Car/small van would be fine. There are also additional parking bays a little further down the road. If you have a second vehicle, commercial van or don't want to use our drive, you must use these for parking, not park on the street.

Guest access
Guests have access to the whole annexe, back garden & patio and front patio. EV charger is available for guests to use on request. Use of the EV charger is an additional cost and not included in the price per night rate. The charger is not tethered, please bring your own charging lead.

Other things to note
The annexe is at the side of our house. There is an internal connecting door between our kitchens, as at some point it will house an elderly parent, but for both our privacies it is locked with a key on our side and has a latch bolt on the guest side, so access either way is not possible during a guests stay.
EV charger is available for guests to use on request. Use of the EV charger is an additional cost and not included in the price per night rate. The charger is not tethered, please bring your own charging lead.

Neighbourhood highlights

We live on a residential road in Kinver which is categorised as a village. We are a ten minute walk from Kinver Edge and the Kinver Rock Houses. You can walk into the village where you'll find a butcher, a baker, (but no candle stick maker) a fruit & veg shop all with local produce and a co-op. We have five pubs, two which also serve food, a few cafes, fish & chip/kebab shop, an Indian restaurant/take away, two Chinese takeaways, Bistro and Italian restaurants and another pub, The Fox, which serves food on the outskirts of the village. Plus a couple of gift shops, pharmacy, hair dresses/barbers and charity shop. Quite a lot of choice for a village. ☺️

My work: Dance teacher
I'm originally from Sheffield, but now live in the West Midlands due to meeting my husband, Steve, on cruise ships which we both worked on for several years. I as a dancer and he as gift shop manager. Due to working on ships and visiting many places we often struggle to decide where to holiday. We like our holiday to be like a home away from home and therefore tend to keep away from hotels and package holidays. I now run my own dance school so we mainly go away in the British school holidays, so I do not have to close the school for extra dates. We've used Airbnb quite abit and always had a great experience, so took the step into hosting in November 2020, having guests stay in our newly built annexe until it is required to house an aging family member.
