Children are welcome! Dogs are accepted.
Casona Rosa has 2 rooms with a shared bath (for budget travelers or guests traveling with dogs); plus 4 unique suites to choose from...each with a private bathroom and all have TWO bedrooms, all with highest speed WiFi available.
There is a TV with Apple access, phones (local and LD), cd player, high-speed WiFi and a guest computer available to all guests in our Community Room.
In addition to the Community Room, we have many common areas for all guests to use: the outdoor garden courtyard; the living room with extensive library; plus a dining area, where we serve breakfast, and for your personal use~as well as the communal kitchen.
Interaction with guests
I am available (no charge) for tour design, questions and tips re tour info to the monarca butterfly reserves and to local indigenous artisan workshops; restaurant advice and walking tours for Morelia's tourist sights.
Other things to note
Great care was taken to create a warm and inviting environment at Casona Rosa with lush towels, premium bed linens, a fully equipped and stocked kitchen, as well as colorful local handcrafts, some for sale~~~plus all the comforts of home. Many reviews say we are "home away from home". We like that!
High speed WiFi works throughout all the Casona suites.
We have 2 outdoor courtyards with plenty of sitting room for sun and shade; a hammock; a dining room; a living room with library; plus a Community Room for lounging, reading, tv, phones and computer set up. All of this, plus 3 of the 5 suites are on the ground floor; and 2 suites are upstairs.
Mi casa su casa....
Enjoy yourself immensely!

I am a woman who fell in love with Mexico 15 years ago, found a place here in Morelia, and took it on the spot. Ever since then I've been reveling in the joys of Mexico, and I love sharing my experience of Mexico with others.
I think we have the best of Mexico right here in what they call
"the soul of Mexico"...the central highlands area. Morelia
is a fantastic colonial city, the most like Spain of any of the
colonial cities. The Centro Historico is a UNESCO World Heritage site. We are about 40 minutes away from the Lake Pátzcuaro area with all the indigenous villages that specialize in arts and crafts that have been carried on from generation to generation for hundreds of years.
Art, culture, history, heritage, food, flavors, weather, wonderful people.....we have it all here! Mi casa es su casa!
Also, over time I have discovered Mexico City, San Miguel de Allende and the fabulous beach fishing village of Zihuatanejo. We can arrange tours for you and/or make arrangments for you to continue your Mexico stay in these places as well as others.
My rules for Casona Rosa: Enjoy immensely!
My motto: The words of Frida Kahlo: "Viva la Vida"!
