Charming and comfortable apartment with a bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, balcony and a large terrace at the first floor of the villa. It can accommodate 2 adults + 1 child under 9 yrs old in a folding bed or a baby in a crib.

The space
La Maison Soleil is a cozy villa surrounded by a big garden with a shared swimming pool and a pool house.
The swimming pool and the pool area are equipped with sun loungers and a table with benches.


The respect of the environment is one of our priority. We have installed a solar water heater to make hot water, we separate all the solid waste, we make the compost and use it to grow our fruit trees. The rain water is collected to water the big garden.
We support the local community and invite our guests to experience the local food in the restaurants of the village or to have a dinner with a Mauritian family as well to buy products made by local artisans.

La Maison Soleil is situated 10 minutes walking from the village center of Trou d'eau Douce and 15 minutes walking from Trou d'eau Douce beach. The well-known Ile aux Cerfs, with its breathtaking beaches and its splendid lagoon waters, is just a short boat ride on the facing bay.

La Maison Soleil is an ideal base for visiting the fabulous east coast beaches (Palmar public beach is 2,5 km far, Belle Mare public beach is 7 km far) and as a starting point for the exploration of the whole Island.
A car is recommended if you want to move and to visit the area.
Otherwise you can move by public transport (during daytime) or taxi.

Guests have access to the garden, the swimming pool and to the pool area equipped with the sun loungers and the outside furniture.

La Maison Soleil has a tourism license issued by the Mauritian Tourism Authority.
A new tourism tax of 3 euro per person (from 12 years old) and per night is applied for stays starting 1st October 2025. This tax is not included in the listing price and must be paid cash upon arrival.

Following the sanitary protocol against covid19, your room will be cleaned and fully disinfected before your arrival.

Smoking is allowed just on the balcony, on the terrace and in the outside areas.

The water is heated by a solar heater of 330 liters and the temperature of it may vary depending of the sun and of the season.

Energy and water are very precious resources and we recommend not to waste them.

We are eco-friendly and try to impact the less of possible on the environment.

You can cooperate for a green environment separating plastic, beer cans, paper and fruit and vegetable waste from the rest of the trash.

For your security and that of the whole house, it is advisable to lock the windows and the doors during the night or when you go out.

We suggest you to put all your documents, credit card, cash or valuables in the safe box.

The swimming pool can be used from 7 am to 7 pm
While using the swimming pool children must be supervised by an adult who is responsible of their safety. We decline any responsibility in case of accident.

The house is located in a residential area and it's about 15 minutes walking from the center of Trou d'eau Douce.
Trou d'eau Douce is a picturesque village situated on the east coast of Mauritius, with its bay overlooking the crystal waters of the longest lagoon of the island and its stunning white sand beaches.
In the recent years it faced a good touristic development, although without losing the magical laid-back atmosphere of the fishing village it was at the real beginning.
The village hosts the following facilities: different kind of restaurants, a pizzeria, some stores, supermarket, ATM, pharmacy, exchange office and post office, souvenir shops. It's the perfect place for those who seek a peaceful and quiet escape from the rush of every day life.

Chance of destiny led me to this marvelous island for the first time in 2005 while on holiday. Seduced by its mysterious charm, the wild beauty of its beaches and the friendly hospitality of the local population, I decided to settle here. I am living in Trou d'eau Douce since 2007, a tiny village overlooking a beautiful bay lying in the turquoise lagoon of the east coast of Mauritius. After seven years working in the tourism industry, the idea of a B&B popped up in my mind, with the aim to better care of my guests and to provide them with a high level of service in a familiar and comfortable environment: a home away from one's home, experiencing the local culture and the true way of living of the Mauritians. I will be delighted to share with my guests my knowledge of the island, the stories and adventures I was in, and also recommend the activities most suitable to their taste. I realize I am living in a beautiful place surrounded by a flourishing nature and I do my best to preserve this precious environment through little good habits, such as recycling, composting, organic growing of our fruit trees and spices, generating hot water by solar panels, among others. I am fond of animals and in particular I love dogs: four of them are living in our garden, they are adorable and sociable, and they get crazy for plays, caresses and...food! I will be very happy to welcome you to la Maison Soleil!
