The space
The Nave-Raffaelli family is pleased to welcome you.
We are at the gates of the historic center of Ala, a baroque village also known as the "City of Velvet". This name, as well as the name of our structure, wants to evoke the past times when the silk velvet market was flourishing.

After a long and meticulous renovation, the Velvets have 14 rooms finely furnished in natural wood with private bathrooms and 2 spacious apartments complete with equipped kitchen.

The panoramic internal lift also allows disabled people to access the reception, the accommodation and the refreshment points.
The numerous indoor and outdoor common areas are accessible for moments of leisure and relaxation.
On the ground floor of the house is located the "Caffè Commercio", a large historical place whose origins date back to the 19th century. Since 1988 our family has served coffee and baked goods, tasty lunch proposals, aperitifs, cocktails and music for the evening.
In 2017, among the proposals of our structure, the Primo Piano restaurant was added, which in addition to hosting the rich breakfast buffet, can be booked for parties and receptions.
Bikes and motorcycles can be parked inside the property, while for cars it is possible to use one of the many public car parks nearby or reserve a parking space in our garage 200m away

Where you’ll be

Ala, Trentino-Alto Adige, Italy

Cosy village in Trentino, Ala is the Orange Flag of the Italian Touring Club

Famous in the eighteenth century for the production of silk velvets, it retains a baroque atmosphere: the city's flagship, one of the most beautiful historic centres in Trentino and the Museum of the Ancient Piano.

Ala, renamed "City of Velvet" in the eighteenth century, in 2007 receives the Orange Flag of the Italian Touring Club.

Its historic centre, one of the best preserved in Trentino, comes alive in summer on the occasion of the Velvet City. Squares, palaces, and gardens open to art, music, and poetry. In October, Ala takes part in Orange Flags Day. If you want to relive the splendours of the eighteenth century, we suggest you take a guided tour with costumed figures.

At the Museum of the Ancient Piano, in the elegant rooms of Palazzo De’ Pizzini – Di Lenna, you will find a prestigious collection of pianos from the time of Mozart, Schubert, Beethoven and Chopin. In Palazzo Taddei, now in the process of restoration, the Provincial Fabric Museum will open in the future.

In a dominant position over the historic center, you can see the Parish Church of Santa Maria Assunta, of ancient origins. To the north of the city, along the path that runs along the ancient "Roman road", stands the majestic sanctuary of San Valentino, an ancient place of worship. A few kilometers from Ala, along the main road that leads to Verona, you will find the ancient Romanesque church of San Pietro in Bosco.

In your itinerary through the places of the First World War in Vallagarina, do not forget the Serravalle stone, in memory of the exact place where, on October 29, 1918, the Habsburg army asked to suspend the fighting.

On the Lessinia plateau, you can go Nordic walking, mountain biking or stroll through the alpine pastures with their characteristic stone roofs.
For excursions to the “Little Dolomites”, the starting point is the Ronchi Valley.
