Dan the Van is a spacious caravan with a lovely covered porch overlooking trees and facing the sunset. Set in a private spot, and connected to mains electric, water and heating, providing a perfect getaway with everything you need for a comfortable stay.
The space
Dan the Van is set in our idyllic five acre country Dorset valley, teaming with wildlife, you'll be sure to spot rabbits, deer and pheasants roaming all over. With a track leading almost all the way to Dan the Van, access is a dream. We have a tepee set in the Wild Wood. Feel free to explore and enjoy yourself, just please be respectful of our other guests looking to escape to the peace and quiet of nature. We have a beautiful shower block with three showers, and four mains toilets. Water and power is dotted all over the site. During our wetter winter months, we highly recommend wellies. As we're set in a beautiful piece of nature, boggy patches do occur. Dan has a toilet just a stones throw away.
Dan has 1 double bed, plus a sofa that also turn into a very large double, don't forget to bring ALL your bedding. We suggest 1 King sheets for the big sofa-bed. We can provide bedding for a charge
Bring your toiletries, bedding, towels, firelighters, charcoal for the BBQ (we recommend disposable).
Guest access
Feel free to explore and enjoy yourself, just please be respectful of our other guests looking to escape to the peace and quiet of nature. We have a beautiful shower block with three showers, and four mains toilets. Water and power is dotted all over the site.
There is a track that lead almost all the way to Dan, please park on the hard standing area at the top of the hill and DO NOT drive any further.
Other things to note
Airbnb have been providing guests with 100% refunds for stays when they have gone out their way to find issues, for instance we had a guest stay recently that found dust behind a light fitting that they removed and Airbnb refunded them £175 for a two night stay, another instance is a guest complained they had no lights during their stay but didn’t think to tell us as it was simply a trip that needed resetting Airbnb refunded the guest £159, another instance is that a guest photographed a cobweb in our outside toilet block Airbnb refunded them 20% of their stay (£64). We ask kindly that this is a family run husband and wife business that are trying to make ends meet for our family, please do not stay with us if you have these intentions.
We don't allow pets. No loud music, all amplified music must be turned off by 9PM. You must put your rubbish in the bins provided, and leave the space as you found it. DO NOT drive on our grass or risk a fine, stick to the hard standing tracked areas.
Toilets & showers are located externally on the main site. A short 30second walk from Dan.
The TV does not have signal remember to bring your own content! We have USB C, HDMI & Lightning connections.
We don't supply bedding, so please don't forget to bring this with you. We can supply a double duvet and pillows for £15.00
A friendly Cavalier King Charles spaniel lives on site, his name is Leo
There is no Public WI-FI on site, the Wi-fi on site is for our security system. All the major networks work on site.
As we are set in a natural valley, it can be a boggy in places, so don't forget your wellies, especially during the winter months :)
Being in the country we have lots of wonderful wildlife such as deer, rabbits and pheasants, the country also comes with pesky insects such as mosquitoes and ticks, so please be aware of this.
During warmer months we will have camping groups staying with us too.
