After managing cultural arts agencies for the past 25 year, including museums, arts councils and a ballet company from Saratoga Springs, NY to Boulder, CO to Kelowna, BC, I am now following my childhood dream of being an organic farmer. I am also pleased to announce that I have become a professional celebrant who can perform weddings and other ceremonies for visitors to the Ravens View Farm and the Okanagan Valley.
I love my daily practice of getting up with the sun, making chai, meditating, walking the dogs and feeding the chickens. Every time I gaze across the farm's orchard and lavender spiral garden and breathe in the view of Okanagan Lake below, I can't believe how fortunate I am to live here. There is a deep peace here on the farm that seems to emanate from the land itself. Caring for the orchard, planting the formal herb bee garden and lavender labyrinth, crafting my next ceremony and of course hosting guests are just a few of of the activities that engage my heart and mind on Ravens View Farm.
My husband, Mark Rucker, is one of the foremost authorities in wild and wonderful images of the 19th & 20th centuries, in particular 19th Century Baseball. He has collected the most beautiful pictures from the world's cultural heritage. Agricultural images from The Rucker Archive adorn the walls of The Cottage creating a visual feast for our guests both inside and out.
We welcome you to this beautiful and peaceful farm which has natural beauty you can call your all your own while you are here.
