Free parking is available on the street. Very quiet neighborhood, especially if you plan on getting some work done. Free fast WiFi. The room has a working TV with Roku so you can watch Netflix if you like. The house is a 10 minute walk to a diner and where you can catch the bus to go into Philadelphia, PA. If you have a car, you can drive and park at the high speed line.
10 miles to downtown Philadelphia. There are many great historical sites, museums and restaurants.

The space
My father & I both live at the house. My dad is very quiet and enjoys reading his paper in the morning with coffee, and doing his crossword puzzles. You are free to use the kitchen to have coffee, or tea if you prefer. Let me know, and I will be sure to have tea on hand!
I don't recommend renting a car to drive into the city. It is very hectic, and parking fees are exorbitant. You could pay $30+ US dollars to park.
If you have a car, it is best to park at the high speed line to the city. I know the city very well and can assist you with any information you might need.

Guest access
You will have your own private room and share a bathroom with me. My dad has his own. The room has a queen size bed, and it's a fairly small room so there isn't any additional room for a cot. If you do have one additional person, it is $10 additional per night. No more than 2 maximum.
I always have coffee and will have tea on hand if you let me know. I always have lemons, sugar, cream & honey.

The neighborhood is a quiet family area, with tree lined streets. Lots of tweeting birds and chirping crickets. There are some parks along the Delaware River where you can take walks and some photos. You might even catch a few of our nesting American Bald Eagles fishing along the river.

During your stay
I work from home, and am normally always available. My dad is always home. He is a very nice old guy! He sits quietly in the living room, reads his paper & does his crossword puzzles. He usually doesn't turn the TV on until around 3, except on weekends, it could be earlier. You are more than welcome to sit in there with him or at the kitchen table. During warm weather, you are welcome to sit outside. We have a screened in gazebo.
I can provide you with lots of info on places to go and see in the city.
If you are interested in going to the beach area, Atlantic City, it is just under an hour ride. For that, I would recommend, renting a car. There is an Enterprise Car Rental place, within walking distance from the house, 1.3 miles. You can also take a bus or train. South Jersey has some lovely countryside, farms, wineries, Amish markets and the always entertaining Cowtown Rodeo and Flea Market. The rodeo is seasonal and on Saturdays. The Flea Market is Tuesday & Saturday, year round, weather permitting. Good eats, antiques and other trinkets.
