This genuine camp house is located on a working ranch in the Texas Hill Country, approximately 15 minutes from downtown Wimberley. A kitchen/dining area separates the 2 bedrooms. The living room is cozy, yet comfortable. There is 1 bathroom with a small shower. There are other houses nearby, but not so close you'll feel crowded. We invite you to come stay in the Hill Country, enjoy the peace and quiet and take a breather from your hectic everyday lives.
Recently remodeled, the cabin is located in the perfect place to get away and spend some time in the Texas Hill Country!
It's also nice if you've got a wedding in Wimberley or you're coming for Market Days, or you just want to get away from it all.
With 2 arenas (not covered), this property is perfect for folks traveling with horses! LQ trailers can access electricity for an additional fee. Check for stall availability. Let out always available as there is a large trap on cleared 10 acres. Our horses are not available to rent as they are all rodeo or retired rodeo athletes. If you travel with your dog, prior approval is required.
You'll have your own gate opener during your stay, the location of which you'll receive with my check-in instructions. You can walk around the area in front of the cabin, down to the creek and the arenas, to get a feel for wide open spaces that are becoming rare! We ask that you do not enter the ranch areas behind the houses for safety reasons. It's very easy to get lost!
Interaction with guests
We don't have a lot of interaction with our guests because we don't live directly onsite. However, we are very close by and love helping our guests by answering their questions about Wimberley. Our family has lived here for over 75 years, so we know a lot about our beloved area!
Other things to note
Located within 10-20 minute drives from Wimberley, Dripping Springs and Blanco there are many things to do and see in our neck of the woods. A little bit further, Austin, New Braunfels and San Antonio are easy to reach for those willing to drive just under an hour for even more to do and see!
Even though you'll be in the country on a ranch, you aren't out here completely alone. There are other houses scattered nearby, but not too close. There are horses, cows and dogs on our ranch, but the fenced yard keep them out of your hair. Please drive slowly on the caliche road. If you are walking or exploring, we ask you do so only in the area in front of the cabin, the 2 arenas and creek. Other house rules are no loud music or rowdiness after 10:00 p.m. No smoking indoors!
If we've approved your dog, know that a portion of your deposit may be kept if there is any damage or a major clean up for us to do because of your dog. It is not to allowed on the furniture at any time, most especially the beds! We also ask you take your dog outside the fenced yard to go to the bathroom. If your dog does go in the fenced area, use the scoop in the shed to deposit behind the cabin or in the brush surrounding the cabin. Please know we have a strict policy regarding the deposit and dogs.
Please take ALL your food with you when you leave and leave our place like you found it. We really appreciate it when our guests bag and take out their trash to the container beside the shed.
We hope you have a wonderful time out here! Thank you for your kind reviews.

Hello, from our little piece of Texas paradise! My husband, Dwayne and I are both from Hays County and after we married asked ourselves, "why leave one of the best places on Earth"? So we raised our children here and our youngest graduated from college in May of 2015.
I'm a social worker managing a non-profit agency serving children and Dwayne is a small business owner, who really wants to just ranch. Our children participated in rodeo so we traveled all over the country taking them to competitions. I'm an avid reader and Dwayne is always coming up with another project to complete! He is a mechanical genius and I can turn on the radio. I buy the groceries and he cooks. We both adore children of all ages and our oldest made us grandparents in the Spring of 2016!
Our nest is empty so we're having a great time together, traveling, spending time with friends and family, whenever we get a chance. We want our guests to be comfortable, resting easy in the knowledge they are staying in a clean cabin nestled in a very safe location, with neighbors who are not terribly close, but who are as friendly and helpful as we are!
