Kurt is a great host - very friendly and provided me with all the information I needed. Plus he answered the numerous, various queries I had. He even left a packet of tasty biscuits for me in the apartment, and was happy to give me a *very late* check-out, as my flight home was in the evening.
The apartment is exactly as described and perfectly sized for a couple or single traveller. There is a noisy neighbour upstairs though (just footsteps), who seems to like walking around a lot at late random hours! So if you're a light sleeper this may be a problem... (I sleep pretty heavily, thankfully!)
The kitchen is a little basic - no toaster or microwave. But the stove top is good, and is fine for breakfast and snacks. I ate out all the rest of the time... A toaster would have been useful though.
This part of the Upper West Side is fairly quiet, so a nice respite from the madness of much of New York. However, you might feel a bit removed from the action - and will need to use the subway a lot. (It's very, very good and efficient though.)
