Your private street access door opens up to a bright, airy space. Come and go with an easy, remote check in process. Enjoy an enhanced sense of security by being able to park at your door with a reserved parking spot.

All this - a minutes walk from the vibrant St Claude Arts Corridor. Explore the true New Orleans music and culture and come home to a welcoming, private space.

Stay with an experienced host - hundreds of reviews - and a solid track record of providing comfort and cleanliness.

The space
Recharge in comfort with a new, queen-sized, memory-foam mattress. I created this home with simplicity in mind - from the homemade furniture to the minimalism throughout. It is designed to be clean and make use of the ample natural light that flows in.

Travelling with others? We have a set of bunks, complete with new memory foam mattresses, perfect for kids or adults.

In the kitchen and bathroom you will find ample utensils and amenities to make your stay an easy one. You will also find extra blankets, heaters, A/C and board games to make your stay enjoyable and comfortable.

With the amount of interesting things going on around us, we find a TV is an unneeded distraction, so we don’t have one! Instead we have a vintage radio player, fully functional, tuned to WWOZ, the local jazz and blues station - so all you have to do is turn it on and immerse yourself in the culture and music of New Orleans.

Guest access
All parts of the apartment are dedicated for your private use.

Location

New Orleans, Louisiana, United States

Where this home is:
It is in the true New Orleans. You may hear saxophone floating from the houses around, or see kids out practicing their parade marches for the next Mardis Gras. You may smell Cajun BBQ as it wafts over from a wood-burner. There is genuine friendliness in the people, and there is an edge, a vibrancy.

Where this home is NOT:
It is not in the French Quarter. Or in a retirement community. It is for travelers looking to experience the liveliness and culture of the real New Orleans.

There are a number of exceptional restaurants, cafes and music venues within walking distance. Some examples - The Sneaky Pickle, Bacchanals, Satsuma Cafe.

Thanks for checking out my profile! I am a Scottish native with a masters degree in mechanical engineering. I have lived in and around the New Orleans area for a number of years (on and off), and have an outsiders perspective combined with a locals knowledge - the perfect mix! New Orleans is my much loved adopted home, and I reside in the best area of it with my 3 year old son. I have a wide range of interests, from climbing and football to astronomy and eco-housing. I believe in a world where strangers can be family for a day and enjoy using airbnb and other similar sites. I have worked with a local international youth hostel in the area and so know a good amount about the fun things to do and see around New Orleans - and also I have plenty of 'off-the-beaten-path' ideas to share with travelers. I love to travel, my favourite transportation style is cycling and I just did a very nice bike ride through Germany and Czech Republic. It makes me happy listening to others crazy travel plans. That's a little bit about me, feel free to ask me anything else you would like to know.
