We as a family of 4 loved staying in Javier’s apartment. The pictures do not do the loft justice - it is bigger than the pictures indicate and the light and view is amazing. The decor is simple but pretty and it genuinely looks a lot like a NYC loft. Javier was very, VERY easy to get in contact with, almost answering immediately. Marisa, the woman in charge of check-in and check-out was very friendly and helpful, though she didn’t speak English that well. We made do with a little (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) translate. We asked for a drying rack for clothes and got one literally five minutes later. The contact was terrific. The bathroom is huge and beautiful, though the sinks are awkward to use. The washing machine was convenient as we stayed for almost 3 weeks. We thought we would miss a terrace, but with a little re-arrangement of the furniture, we almost made ourselves believe we had a terrace, as we moved the dinner table to the big windows by the couches and opened the windows. We made do with what we had in the kitchen, though some basic things were missing (breadbasket, enough wine glasses for everyone, bowls for cooking, etc.). But it was definitely do-able. The apartment was essentially clean, though we thought the bedding smelled “funny”, but luckily, we could just wash it in the washing machine. We didn’t get new towels by week 2, but I am sure if we had asked, we would have gotten them immediately. We just washed the other ones ourselves. It was hot at night in the apartment, but with the fan going and the windows open we were actually able to get a nice temperature in the apartment. The only downside was that there are a lot of dogs in the neighbourhood and if one starts barking in the night, the others follow. This problem can of course be solved by bringing earplugs. The garden around the house was beautiful and well-cared for, as well as the tennis court and the pool. There is no tennis equipment in the apartment, which we thought would have been nice to have. The pool is amazing and much bigger than in the photos. We did miss lounge/laying chairs around the pool, but bought some in a local supermarket. The location of the apartment is great, in a very local city. We read that 90% of the people in the town are locals working in Malaga. Walking around on the beach you never feel that you are about to fall into a tourist-trap. Nice restaurants and beach-clubs, with very cheap lounge-chairs compared to other places. The apartment was walking-distance from the beach, several supermarkets and an amazing, local bakery. The location was also great for taking trips: Super close to Malaga, easy access to highways leading to Granada, Gibraltar, Marbella and even Cadiz. Overall, we would very much recommend staying here and would definitely come back if we are ever in Spain again....

The appartment was nice and spacious. I loved the view, you could see to the ocean. Javier answered really fast if there was any questions. Marissa was so nice and helpful. The appartment is near to all point of interests around Malaga. Great experience with very nice people.

We met intermediary Marisa who provided us with keys and a quick tour no problems at all. She was very pleasant but not much English spoken (maybe we should learn Spanish?). This apartment was pretty much perfect, the description and photos if anything undersell it. The sea view through the floor to ceiling windows is brilliant and really makes the place. Very roomy, great for hosting, nicely decorated to a good modern standard, think NY loft apartment. Well equipped kitchen, great memory foam mattress on the main bed, good storage, a nicely finished bathroom, Javier also disclosed in his listing that the Jacuzzi doesn't work but don't let that put you off, it's still a lot of fun and very relaxing in the oversized tub. Wifi and smart TV provided all worked great with no problems. With a two minute walk to the nearest supermarket, the beach and central area only ten minutes stroll away, plus on street parking which was never a hassle, it's a great location, yes there are hills and four flights of stairs, but you get used to them. Anyone that complains about this place, and its great value, is totally loco.

Pros: -Large, spacious, clean and bright flat -Safe gated property with a nice garden -Modern design mostly from Ikea I’m guessing) -Plenty of storage space -Lovely bathroom towels -A warm welcome from Marisa who looks after the flat and is one of the neighbours -Comfy beds -Plenty of items in the kitchen -The flat is very close to the local supermarkets -Free Wi-Fi with good speed Cons: -The flat is very dark in the evenings as there are not enough lights (no ceiling lights, just lamps) -No Aircon as you have to keep the curtains shut during the day to make sure the flat is cool at night. You need to have the windows open at night, but.. -The neighbours’ dogs bark throughout the evening and night -The flat is on the 4th floor and there is no lift. Carrying heavy suitcases up there was not fun -There is a very impressive Jacuzzi in the bathroom, but unfortunately it doesn’t work (this was a bit upsetting even though Jacuzzi was not mentioned in the property description) -The bathroom sinks are tiny and very awkward to use -No bin in the bathroom -There are some “non-standard” aspects of design – it was designed for someone really tall, so being 160cm myself I did struggle a bit. It look me two days to figure out where the towel hooks and rails were - they were way above my eye level; I almost killed myself trying to stick the shower head into the wall mount which was very close to the ceiling; I could only see the top of my head in the long mirror by the sinks -There are a lot of kitchen dishes with chips and cracks - The light above the dining table did not work -There were no beach towels -The property is quite far from the beach and you need to walk uphill to reach it, which is not easy in the heat

Delighted with this place! A great place to stay for a relaxed sun soaked getaway. The apartment and complex is lovely, spacious, clean and airy. Nice modern kitchen, lovely bathroom. The neighbourhood is really nice with lots of lovely Biznaga (Jasmine) bursting out of nicely kept gardens. Short walk to a really nice beach and promenade and also two large supermarkets, and a couple of fruterias. Would recommend ratos as a nice spot for the evening. We didn't end up using the pool in the end (swam in sea instead), but it does look lovely, large and well kept. If you get confused by the house numbers on the street when you're trying to find the place, just continue up the hill after the crossroads until they resume again. The lady who looks after the house, Marisa, is lovely. Would recommend this place whole heartedly!
