Each of our four rooms were carefully and meticulously designed with the history of the house at the forefront of our minds. Every room gives guests a spacious, yet cosy place to rest their head.

This is a four room listing - when booked, you will be reserving all four available room. Should you wish to view individual rooms, please check Mandy's profile (full booking is cheaper than individual)

Before arrival, guests can request breakfast/evening meals (£12/£30+ respectively)

The space
The Green Room resides on the second floor and is an elegant double room with a Georgian fireplace, original polished wood floors and antique rugs.

The Twin Room resides on the second floor and, as the name might suggest, contains two Edwardian single beds, along with dual aspect to the South and West, overlooking the front garden.

The Blue Room resides on the first floor and is a charming, dual-aspect double room facing both South and West, overlooking the front garden. The room's comfy spoon-back chair allows secluded sunset reading.

The Slipper Satin Room resides on the first floor and is a pretty, South facing, double room with an original Georgian fireplace and cornicing.

Our lovely Georgian, listed home is in the beautiful Cotswold Village of Chalford. Vale House itself carries a relaxed feel, and rightly so as we insist that all guests make themselves feel at home when staying here.

We have both the Drawing Room and the Piano Room available for guests to use as dedicated Sitting Rooms as well as multiple, well-tended, outdoor areas to relax in such as the front and rear gardens and beyond.

Please note the kitchen is not available to guests, we can however provide cultery, crockery and glasses.

Guest access
On each floor, guests share a bathroom. Each guest has their room, bathroom and access to two sitting rooms, the dining room, the front and rear gardens, the garage and above-garage seating area and free onsite and offsite parking.

During your stay
We ensure that every stay is met with as much or as little interaction as guests wish. While the house is very much our home, we distinguish guest areas from residential, but inform everyone of where we can be found if required.

Should you wish to host a party and/or event
As a chef and caterer, if I am not otherwise engaged then I am more than happy to organise any form or party or dinner or event on the grounds of the house. This is of course dependant on other guests and any events I may have on during your stay.

Neighbourhood highlights

Nestled in the Golden Valley, our village has a shop, two pubs and is surrounded by stunning countryside. The whole local area is aglow with spectacular walks - if you want to know them just ask!

The Village shop is a 3 minute walk from the house and is open from 8am every day. Just across the road we have the renouned Lavender Bakehouse - an acceptional patisserie. Every Saturday the local town, Stroud, hosts their award-winning Farmer's Market. Opposite Vale House, we find the amazing Victoria Works, host to more than a dozen artists and any workshops they might be running.
