Where you’ll be

Hidalgo, Mexico

We are located 5 km from Apan Hidalgo, a very quiet small town, which is known as the cradle of the Charreria in Mexico. Just 1.20 hours from Mexico City.
It has the Parish Church of La Asunción, built in the late 17th and early 18th centuries, considered a jewel of the Mexican Baroque. And it has several places to eat the famous Hole BBQ and try the drink of this region, the flea. You can also visit various haciendas, built since the Viceroyal period, consisting of hulls, pens and pastures as well as land for tillage or grazing, for agricultural, livestock and pulp farming activities. In the hull were the offices, the house of the owner or administrator and the rooms of the peonade; most of them have a chapel for the service of their inhabitants and of course the tinacal, the place where the flea was produced.
Another very interesting place to visit is Tepeapulco, 20 minutes away. Here you can visit the Convent of San Francisco of Assisi, where Brother Bernardino of Sahagún wrote the History of Things in New Spain; the house they say belonged to Hernán Cortés and The formidable Water Box.
You can also visit the Xihuingo Archaeological Zone, the oldest archaeological remains in the state of Hidalgo.
Another attractive place to visit is the Tecocomulco Lagoon, considered the last natural wetland in the Mexico Valley. Undoubtedly a favorite place for biologists and botanists, because it is inhabited by more than 70 species of birds, home to a wide variety of phytoplankton, fish and ajolote.
