Interaction with guests
Bulabog area of Boracay is much more relaxed and quieter than the main area of White Beach (which can be reached by foot in 15 minutes or trike/bike in 5 minutes). I have lived in Boracay myself for 6.5 years now and love the ambiance and chilling atmosphere of Bulabog. I enjoy sunset/evening sessions at the many small and sometimes intimate bars/restaurants along Bulabog Beach. During Kite-boarding season the whole of the Beach comes alive during the day and on an evening relaxes down. Try sunset drinks at Levantin, dinner at 7 Stones or just pop into one of the many local bars/eateries dotted along the roadside and beach. Evening time is time to relax at this side of Boracay but if you wish to party it is only a short walk or trike/bike ride to the hustle and bustle of White Beach, D Mall and Station 1.
Other things to note
Try the following beaches/bars/restaurants:
Levantin - beach bar/restaurant
7 Stones - 7 Note Cafe (fantastic Saturday night steak/wine dinner - 750 pesos)
Los Amigos Bravos - a new bar/restaurant recently opened selling beers on tap and mouth watering dishes.
Lola's Pizzas - a small local pizza takeaway just off Laketown selling good quality pizzas at prices that you cannot beat (Max cost 250 for 12 inch meat overload pizza) - teleph(PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN) for orders/delivery
Rumbas Sports Bar/restaurant - near the Carousel in D Mall. Shows most sports events and serves a mixture of English and Filipino food
Valalah Restaurant - across from Rumbas. Serves fantastic food options and well liked by locals and tourists alike.
White Beach Station 2
Nigi Nigis Nuu Noos - beach front bar/restaurant (one of the oldest). Welcoming staff and great Happy Hour from 5-7 pm daily - food specials most evenings. Mike the resident F/B Manager/Chef and his staff will give you warm welcome and cook bespoke meals if requested
Aria Italian Restaurant - beach front at the bottom of D Mall serving authentic Italian cuisine.
Angol Station 3:
Cowboys Cocina Bar/Restaurant. A quieter side to the Island and a local bar/restaurant serving English, Filippino food. Great sunset views and so relaxing.
Red Pirates - One of the oldest original bars on the island. Very native and welcoming. Take one of their daytime/sunset sails on the Red Pirate Boat. This is a must do!!
Wahine Bar/Restaurant - great food cooked by Chef Sunny and his team. One of my favourite beaches on the island - very small and local. Enjoy sunset cocktails (still the best Mango Daquires on the island!!) and sample the wonderful meal options.
Very chilled and more for the younger people. Chill out sessions at weekends - direct access into the ocean from a stairway from the bar which is built into the cliffside with native materials.
A visit to Puka Beach (the shell beach) is a total must - so quiet and relaxed with fantastic views over to Carabao Island. The waters are clear and blue. Many people take boat trips around to Puka Beach.
Mount Luho viewing point - well worth a visit especially on a clear day where you will have a 360 degree view of the island and mainland of Malay.
Arial's Point boat trip:
Recommended if you like water and boats. This is a full day tour starting around 10 am. Boat takes you from Station 1 White Beach to Arials Point (around the headland of Malay) where you can relax, swim, kayak or snorkel and jump off the cliff in to the clear blue waters. All food and drink is included.
