Come and have a Butchers at this super cosy eco home with a cracking view

The old Butchers Arms pub has been rebuilt to the super low energy Passivhaus methodology. Set over a quirky café serving the finest coffee in town at the gate to the stunning Royal William Yard (that’s King Billy to the locals), the property has uninterrupted views across Admiralty’s Hard and Mayflower Marina, perfect for watching the watery world go by.

The space
This location is perfect for couples or families and there are plenty of toys, board games and books to keep everyone entertained, as well as a clip-on highchair & travel cot on request.

The rebuild is the work of the owner and her family who live next door “Our buildings need to use less energy AND be more comfortable, this is what Passivhaus achieves”

Sustainability has been thought of throughout, from the heat pump that provides hot water to the organic sheets.

As well as a cosy interior, the south facing patio is a great private space for alfresco dining or lazing around after a swim.

Where you’ll be

Stonehouse, England, United Kingdom

If you manage to drag yourself away from the beautiful view, there are a plethora of things to do in the local area; at the end of the street is a sea-swimming hot spot, or maybe a trip across the foot ferry to Cornwall’s Mount Edgecombe which opens a world of rolling countryside and remote beaches. The city centre is only 1 ½ miles away and there is a half hourly bus if the Theatre, or a spot of shopping is more your thing (although we think you’ll be too happy locally to bother).
