Newburgh, Fife is an historical town. In the 18th century linen was woven in weaving sheds and cottages which still reflects in its architecture today. The town is sandwiched between the river Tay and a hillside providing ample walks and other sport activities. Many visitors start on the ‘ Fife Coastal Walk’ from this location.
The chapel has excellent wifi. The town is self sufficient with shops, post office, chemist, doctors, dentist, garage, gallery and its very own distillery!

The space
Burgher Chapel is a converted church set in a conservation area of Newburgh, Fife.
Build in 1836 it was used for many purposes before opening its doors as an Airbnb. It sits in a little square overlooking original weavers cottages near to the the estuary of the river Tay.
The large church windows allow light and warmth to illuminate the open plan living and relaxation space. The two bedrooms add additional space for privacy and a good night sleep.
There is a narrow walled garden which is also the private entry with outside parking provided.
The quirky layout of the building and its double hight ceiling is topped up with its theatrical interior designed by your host. The space is called the ‘ Gallery Flat’ and features many artifacts from previous performance or theatrical productions.
You will find many view and relaxation points as you move around, such as the upstairs windows to sit in.
The thick walls of the chapel makes the place a very quiet and peaceful location.
