Warm, cozy, secluded, two-story detached guest cottage nestled behind main house centrally located in uptown New Orleans one block off St. Charles Avenue. 1 block from Streetcar; walkable to shops and eats.

The space

The Dacha, as we've named our quaint and inviting guest cottage, derives it's name from the Russian term "country home". The layout has a free flow, semi-loft, feel that sleeps two upstairs on a four poster bed and two downstairs on a plush wicker trundle. There is a full kitchen, laundry, 1.5 baths, TV w/ wireless streaming and high-speed internet.

Guest access

Sit and relax on the back patio and enjoy the gentle soundscapes of uptown New Orleans, or steal away to our meditative citrus grove and pick fresh limes, lemons or satsumas.

Interaction with guests

Though we are in and out most of the days raising our family, guests can expect us to be readily available when we are in town.

We had a wonderful time staying in Beth and Trey's dacha! The area was perfect - quiet, pretty and residential, but with loads of great bars, restaurants and shops within easy walking distance, and very close to the St Charles Avenue streetcar for getting downtown. Trey and Beth also left some helpful recommendations for local favourite shops and restaurants - v helpful! The dacha itself is perfectly set up - comfortable bed, great shower and well equipped kitchen. We would definitely recommend staying here :)!

We had a wonderful week here - the cozy apartment had everything our family of 4 needed to feel at home in New Orleans. Just a block from the St. Charles Street car line and a very quick walk to the shops and restaurants on Prytania making it a great spot if you want to pretend to be a local on your trip. The family left a guide of nearby restaurants and bars -- all of which were great recommendations! By the end of the week the kids were calling the Dache our "new home" and we will most certainly be visiting again soon. Thank you again to Trey and Beth for their generous hospitality.

I took my daughter and three of her friends to New Orleans to celebrate her 10th birthday and staying in the guest house made our trip truly magical. The house is beautiful, the neighborhood exquisite and there were even snacks and drinks waiting for us when we arrived. I plan to stay here again whenever possible!!

We had a short but great stay in the Dacha while in town visiting Tulane. The location was beyond perfect for us being only a block away from St Charles streetcar, close to Tulane and all the great restaurants on Prytania and Magazine streets(only a short walk away). A hop on the streetcar and we could pretty much go anywhere within minutes... French quarter, Carollton, garden district. The neighborhood had some of the beautiful homes we saw all weekend! Beth and Trey were super nice and accommodating and let us drop our bags early so we could head to our school tour at Tulane hands free. We also loved the array of delicious beverages that were stocked in the fridge! Very nice stay!

The cottage is a great base to explore NOLA from and then retreat to after taking in all the city has to offer.
