Bedroom in restored 1860's house. New mattress that sleeps two, plus desk and bureau. Shared bath. Two blocks to Main Street. Full kitchen. Wi-fi. We are a writer and a painter. Ours is a quiet, no television home. Dog is part of our scene. Off-street parking.

Guest access

Kitchen access available but please ask. Ours is a small house but guests are welcome to share our living room, particularly in winter when there is a fire going in the wood stove. In summer, we have a lovely patio and porch.

Baron's home was perfect. Although we came in late and left the next morning (due to our busy schedule) they were accommodating and welcoming. The bedroom was quaint and cozy. The shared bathroom never presented a problem. Large yard with plenty of parking. Very knowledgeable of the local restaurants and shops and even suggested that we try the best coffee in town and it definitely was! Would highly recommend!

Baron and Janet have a lovely home, well appointed and immaculate. I was made very comfortable and felt welcome there. Should I ever revisit Montpelier, I'd very much consider staying here again.

The location of the house can't be beat. It's short walk from the middle of town, where there are restaurants, shops and the state capitol. The room was clean and comfortable. We would love to stay there again.

I'm a poet and writer who has written fourteen books. I teach in a graduate MFA program. My wife, who is a painter, and I moved to Montpelier recently from our home in the Vermont country side. We love to garden, read, listen to music and cook. We also meditate. Ours is a quiet, orderly, cozy home with a wood stove for those cold Vermont days and nights.
