Beautiful area

Guests love this home’s scenic location.
Welcome to our A-frame cabin, nestled in charming Old Florida Woodlands. It’s complete with two cots, a hinged wall/awning, fire pit, lounge chairs, a hammock, and a picnic table.

From this soft pine-needled space, enjoy the view across the pond, go explore the seasonal garden, feed the fish, and meet our farm dogs. Mostly, enjoy ease and reconnection nature encourages.

Due to severe drought this year, the pond is currently very low. However, you can still spot koi, bass, and brim. 🙏🏼

The space
Spigot for potable water is available near the twin palm trees, about 15 yards away. Cute, composting outhouse is available at the top of the pond.

Guest access
You are welcome to enjoy the entire pond area and surrounding wooded areas on the 4 acres.

We do allow one extra tent at the site next next to the to the aframe. Please note we ask an additional 20.00 per extra person or persons staying in the tent.

One pop up tent is permitted per group.

*PLEASE NOTE FARM TOURS AND ANIMAL ENCOUNTERS ARE CURRENTLY PAUSED.*

Other things to note
Please note that we also host campers in primitive sites on the property.

We are a working farm. There are four farm dogs on the property. Two livestock guardian dogs, a cattle dog, and a yellow mix. They are working dogs who keep coyotes off of the property to keep our young animals safe. Please let us know if you need assistance meeting them.

This is a primitive campsite. Be aware that though the cabin is well made, it is still considered camping and is located in a woodland area. Bugs, spiders, and the like might be encountered. We provide insecticide in the cabin for your use as needed to be comfortable. Please do not use sprays or powders on the local fauna outside of the cabin. We appreciate your help in keeping our ecosystem healthy.

Neighbourhood highlights

Looking to fit in with the locals? Welcome to dirt road living in Alachua.. Quiet and charming in the heart of Old Florida. Historic Downtown Alachua is 15 minutes away. Downtown Gainesville is 25 minutes. There is a Dollar General store 5 minutes up the road, located in historic LaCrosse. The gemmy watered springs are 25-35 minutes.

For a perfect Old Florida day, we suggest heading to the springs (Suggested: Ichetucknee or Gilchrist Blue) in the mornings before the crowds and then to enjoy a lunch or dinner on the patio at The Great Outdoors, located in High Springs. There are also local breweries and antique shoppes on this Main Street. Wishing you adventure and beauty in your travels.

My work: Farmer, Writer, Woodland Host
Speaks English
Farmer by day and writer by night. The woodlands are my refuge, horses a favorite mode of transportation, and dogs my delight. I drink a lot of tea and am easily distracted by flowers. I believe everything from the mundane to the brilliant can be sacred if we look closely and quietly enough… but know well the difficulties in getting there. Offering this space to visitors and new friends is a dream that my Mother and Papa helped make a reality. I wish you reconnection during your stay in the Old Florida woodlands and a sense of groundedness to carry forward. -Allie
