The space
“WOW it’s all about the amazing sea view.” That’s the first thing our previous guests say in their comments about their stay at 19 Evening Star. Location Location Location! It’s what makes 19 Evening Star so special. It really does have the most wonderful woodland framed expanse of uninterrupted blue sea from its “elevated” position. Visually from chalet to shore 19 Evening Star is approximately 1 km away and you can see and hear the rhythm of the waves ebbing and flowing with the ever changing weather and tide conditions.

19 Evening Star is tucked away, positioned in an elevated hillside setting with the most AMAZING BREATHTAKING SEA VIEWS, built in a picturesque undulating wildflower garden setting that really sets this chalet apart. It is a haven for local wildlife, birds and pollinators. Native red squirrels and a local family of badgers are frequent visitors to this spot.

Throughout the day from dawn till way after the golden hour, Evening Star bathes in glorious sunshine. It’s southerly aspect means its perfectly positioned for alfresco dining, sipping a cheeky beer or a chilled glass of wine whilst you gaze out over the English Channel.
In the evening gaze upwards to ponder the inky galaxy, the dark skies at 19 Evening Star are wonderful for star gazing as there is very little light pollution and why we chose 19 Evening Star as the perfect name.

19 Evening Star sits in a row of six single storey one bedroom chalets. From the drone pictures in our picture gallery, you can take in the full aspect of its beautiful countryside location. Each one has their own very individual characteristics that makes ours unique to the rest. It’s central position within the block of chalets commands wonderful uninterrupted sea views from its decking.
Set away from the noise of the road, you can wake up in total tranquility only for the sound of the dawn chorus as the sun rises.
It’s in a lovely sheltered spot lying just below the ‘Undercliffe’ in its own unique subtropical microclimate of geological special interest. The surrounding habitat has been safeguarded, protecting its wildlife and native plants as an area of specific interest for the nation.
The established communal gardens are shared with the remaining residents of the other self catering and privately owned chalets. These chalets which have been purposely built as holiday accommodation is a very *quiet complex called Westcliffe. A mixture of privately owned summer retreats and a portion of self catering holiday rental properties and our friendly neighbours from the remaining two chalets within this row, pass over the decking to access their chalets.

*Guests can enjoy tranquility at Westcliffe free from the noise and distractions that can often be found in family-friendly settings or bawdy notorious group holidays. This quaint site has NO noisy play areas or cheesy club house facilities just gardens, making them a perfect choice for couples seeking a serene holiday setting.

The privately owned complex is accessed up a short unmade drive just off the main road and benefits from a safe and secure electronic gated communal carpark. To the chalet there is a 100 yard path leading to 30 steps that takes you up to the top terrace. *Please note it may therefore preclude those with health and mobility problems and therefore it is not wheelchair or walking frame accessible. (Please bare this in mind before you make your booking.)
Set away from the beaten track in a secluded location, if you come with a bicycle, scooter or motorbike, it’ll be away from public view.

It is located on the fringe of NITON in a quiet village that lies on the southern most point of the island within an area of designated national trust land having St Catherine’s Lighthouse standing proudly on this Point. A perfect spot for watching the famous Round the Island yacht race. If you’re looking for a base to explore this beautiful island then our accommodation is the perfect choice to start your adventure.

Your Little Tour Of Evening Star.

We have thoughtfully decorated the space in stunning Farrow and Ball “Stiffkey Blue” and “Strong White” paint shades with a nod to coastal / scandie design. Our lovely bedroom is actually featured on the Farrow and Ball colour gallery web page under Stiffkey Blue and we’re chuffed it got through their selection criteria. The colour blue is linked with serenity and calm and sums up the chalet vibe perfectly. The property can be found boasting a beautiful open-plan living space comprising a tasteful modern kitchen / comfortable lounge area with stunning views out to sea. Double bedroom with en-suite bathroom. All the windows have blackout curtains.

Lounge / kitchenette area in detail.
The chalet has two comfy armchairs and a handy footstool to rest your weary feet after a days walking or sightseeing. There’s a useful reading lamp and ubiquitous TV.

We have a slow cooker, fridge with separate freezer. There is great range of quality saucepans, and all the utensils you’ll ever need including excellent sharp knives, coordinated dinnerware and glassware including smart crisp white china. Bodum cafetière and an electric milk frothier for those who like their coffee “just so”.
The chalet has a wealth of useful local tourist information booklets, walking and cycling info, as well as beautiful historical literature books all about the island. We also have a great historical DVD about the region of the Undercliffe if you like a bit of history.

We have a fold up table and chairs for when you want to stay indoors and prepare your own meals.

There are two recliner chairs, round table and parasol with outdoor cushions for extra comfort and our friendly neighbours from the remaining two chalets on our row occasionally pass over the decking to access their chalets.

My work: Always busy but coming back to the Isle of Wight keeps me sane !
Lives in Cheshire, Connecticut
I’m married to Tina we have two children Liam and Phoebe. We actually had our first holiday together in one of these chalets and that was 38 years ago, we were a mere 18 and 19 years of age. I am a commercial grower and have a garden nursery and Tina is a qualified Interior Designer. When I’m not busy growing plants for our family run nursery, I enjoy road cycling especially on the Isle of Wight. I love racking up mile upon mile of fabulous coastal roads around the west Wight. Down time for Tina on the other hand is getting her paints out and capturing seascapes. We fell in love with this spot and actually came back for our honeymoon. We now have two chalets, the other is for our personal use. The Isle of Wight is special for us and holds many great memories, which I’m hoping you’ll create too while you stay at our chalet “Evening Star.“
