I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. If you're traveling on budget, I'd suggest you check the available hostels and cheap hotels instead. The place was small, old and generally unpleasant. It is located literally in the middle of the marketplace, with all its inconvenience. It's extremely uncomfortable to get in (going behind some marketplace stands in disgusting dirt), and it is seems even a little dangerous at nights. The market is noisy from early in the morning and its stink carries into the building, filling all its corridors. The walls were thin, and I could hear all that my neighbors were doing inside. The kitchen was very basic, as was the bathroom; both old and small. It took ages for the hot water to arrive in the shower and there was no warm water in the sinks. The room had no sofa, only a bed. The view from the window was awful. The handle of the door to the balcony stayed in my hand when I tried to open it. The TV didn't work but the wifi was fine. Everything looks much worse than in the pictures here. I didn't have time nor patience to complain to the host while I was there, since I was there for a short time and only for the nights, but I couldn't recommend anyone to stay there with a clear conscience. I have contacted the host prior to posting this review, and he said he believes the place to be as described on his airbnb page, asking me to specify. After I did, I haven't received an answer.

The shower had no hot water, I recommend staying in one of the bugger places in the same building. Overall very easy to get to with clear instructions. Easy check in and check out. Very clean.

Very nice place! The apartment was clean and had eerything we needed- even our own little balcony! Right inside the camel market- but not too noisy. Thanks! definetly recommend this authentic spot!

the listing description was misleading - we requested accommodation for 2 single adults and, instead, got one room with one double bed; its advertised as an apartment and, in fact, it's one room; the balcony seen in this picture is shared by 5-6 rooms. There was no contact with the host at all. The janitor came every day but, instead of cleaning, he sat on the balcony with a cigarette and played Tetrus on his phone. The only good things were (a) the airconditioner (b) the shower had good water and (c) the toilet was efficient. These views were shared by other middle-aged visitors. For this, the price was very high. I'd never go there again and I'd discourage anyone over 20 from staying there.

Shlomo was available when we needed him and the apartment was advertised accurately. The room was very small, but we didn't need much space and the location was great and literally inside the carmel market. We enjoyed our stay very much!

This apartment has its pluses and minuses. Unfortunately, the minuses heavily outweigh the pluses. First I will note that Shlomo is a very responsive host, and made an effort to resolve any issue we had during our stay. Unfortunately, there were just too many recurring problems and issues that our stay was rendered very unsatisfactory. When we arrived, the bed sheets were stained and the towels were dirty. The next day, we requested a change of sheets and received cleaner ones. The internet was not working for four out of the five days we were staying at the apartment. We spoke with other guests, and all of them complained about the same issue. We were really counting on having a working internet connection, and this threw a major wrench in our plans. While we were in the room, the air conditioner began dripping water onto the bed, and so we had to turn off the AC which is not so pleasant in the Tel Aviv heat. Shlomo sent a repair man over to fix the problem the next day, and the problem did not repeat itself. The bathroom light stopped working twice during our five-day stay. After the first time, we spoke with the host who insisted that it was just a lightbulb, and that he would replace it the next day. The lightbulb was replaced the next day, and worked for a few hours until it stopped working once more. Unfortunately, there is no window in the bathroom, and so without a light we had to shower in pitch darkness for two or three days. The main theme of our stay in this apartment was that every day we would discover something else that was broken or not working. We would have preferred to use our time to enjoy the city rather than schedule repairs for every little thing in the apartment. The apartment did come with a kitchenette equipped with a mini-fridge, small stovetop, kettle, microwave and some dishes. There is a flatscreen TV, but the remote control didn't work for us. The location of the apartment is in the middle of the Carmel Shuk, which is an open-air market. The noise from the market was not an issue for the most part, and it's a very interesting and central location. I would say that the location is the apartment's biggest plus. Overall, it is hard to recommend others to stay here.
