Curlew is a smart contemporary house in the Devon village of Bigbury-on-Sea. Sleeping 8 people across 4 bedrooms with three bathrooms. The property has a stunning open plan living area, with lovely high ceilings and incredible views over the sea and famous Burgh Island. Being only 200 yards from the magnificent Bigbury beach, Curlew is the ideal base to relax, unwind and explore the beautiful South Devon coast & countryside.

Situated in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Bigbury-on-Sea is renowned for its lovely child friendly beaches and refreshing coastal walks. With its golden sands, Bigbury on Sea has one of the best beaches in the South Hams, and is ideal for children and adults alike. There is plenty for water sports enthusiasts as well, including its’ very own surf school.
Walk across the sands at low tide to visit Burgh Island with its unique Art Deco Hotel favoured by Agatha Christie and Noel Coward or at high tide, ride across the water on the famous sea tractor. Climb to the top of the island for the riveting coastal views or just relax and enjoy a drink in the 14th Century Pilchard Inn.
Located astride the South West Coastal Path, enjoy exploring the delights of the numerous bays and headlands along this beautiful piece of coastline and visit some of the old Pub/Restaurants in the nearby villages along the way.
Bigbury on Sea itself has 2 cafes serving hot meals & take-aways. On the Island, as well as the Pilchard Inn, Burgh Island Hotel has 2 fine dining restaurants open to the public. The nearest general stores are at St. Anns Chapel and Challaborough.
With Curlew as a base, visit the nearby charming harbour towns of Salcombe and Dartmouth or explore Dartmoor or the historic town of Totnes.
