PRICE REDUCED DURING RENOVATIONS.
Through till Feb 2017, there are renovations happening both to the exterior of the building and the flat is not quite up to it's former glory, so I've cut the price a lot (the price you're seeing is discounted already - please do not ask for a further discount). There is a temporary wall in place and the facade of the building has been removed. There's also no balcony access. The work is to the outside of the building and not in the flat itself, but it may be noisy during the day. The last eight photos show the state of flat as it is now.
If you're mainly interested in the location and don't plan to be spending much time in the flat during the day, it should really be no problem.
This flat is in the Grade II Listed Golden Lane Estate, right next door to the famous Barbican estate and designed by the same architects as the Barbican. The building, Great Arthur House, is a perfect example of 1960s modernist architecture, and is often ogled at by architecture nerds.
There's very little furniture in the flat: a dining table, sofa and a double bed is about all. The bedroom has a sliding wall onto the living room. There's super fast WiFi and a land-line. I've left a little Bluetooth speaker for you. Washer/drier and dishwasher are all there. There's also a hair dryer.
Downstairs on the estate is a leisure centre with two tennis courts, a gym, and a swimming pool. You can pay for one-off access to this. The Waitrose supermarket one block away is huge by central London standards and open late.
Interaction with guests
I'm here for questions before you arrive and to check you in. After that I'm generally abroad for work and available by text or email. I have family in London who can help in case of an emergency.
There are quite a few good restaurants within a five minute walk. Whitecross St has a couple (one block away) and Clerkenwell and Farringdon have loads more (5 mins). Shoreditch (10 mins) is better for bars.
* 2 mins walk from Barbican tube
* 10 mins walk from the bars, clubs, and nightlife of uber trendy Shoreditch
* 10 mins walk from St Pauls Cathedral and the financial district of the City with a capital C. You're within the "square mile" of the City of London
* 2 tube stops away from Kings Cross St Pancras station and the Eurostar terminal
* about a 45 min journey from London Heathrow if you take the Heathrow Express via Paddington
* About a 30 min journey from London City Airport via taxi or DLR
Other things to note
If you book, please let me know the time of day for your arrival and departure. Thanks.
Leave the bathroom window open while you're in the shower if you remember. There's no fan in the bathroom and the flat gets a bit humid unless you do this.
If you smoke, please use the balcony. Thanks.
