Description

The space

You have a large living room with a separate entrance, with parking at your doorstep. The room has large view windows and a built in eating area. The furnished bedroom has a queen size bed, a fridge and a door leading to the backyard where you will see Canada Place, the Lions Gate Bridge and the mountains which are 5 minutes away by foot. If you love nature, you can walk for hours on the hiking trails or mountain bike to your heart's delight.

If you are arriving by air, you can jump on Canada Line which will take you directly to the Seabus in 25 minutes. During your stay, if you are without a car, there is a bus at the bottom of our street that will take you into downtown Vancouver or elsewhere in North Vancouver.

If you are planning to take the bus, there are lots of restaurants and shops on Lonsdale, approximately 1 mile down the hill. However, if you are travelling by bus, it would be a good idea to do your grocery shopping or eat before you jump on the bus to make the journey up to our home.

When we are available, we can arrange to give you 50% off the tram ride up Grouse.

Interaction with guests

Feel free to ask questions about where to go, what to do and how to get there.

The neighbourhood

Safe neighbourhood with an uninterrupted view of the water and Vancouver as you walk to the trails which are 5 minutes away.

Getting around

There is a bus which takes you directly into downtown at the bottom of our street during rush hour. You can also take the bus down to the Seabus which also takes you directly into downtown.

Other things to note

If you have a car, it is best to park on the street as there is a lot of traffic in and out of our driveway.

A perfect place for hikers and nature-minded people in the beautiful North Vancouver. Dianne and Dennis are extremely helpful and friendly hosts, and thanks to them my vacation was just perfect. Highly recommended!

We had a wonderful stay with Dianne and her family. The home is lovely and exactly as pictured but even better in person. Definately has the cabin feel and is great for anyone looking to be closer to the outdoors. Although it is part of their home the place has been sectioned off to where it is very private. Dianne and her husband are very knowledgeable of the area and can recommend many places to visit. Awesome find and would stay there again if we visit.

If you enjoy your privacy this is not the place for you. When accessing the washroom you need to go through family's kitchen which is open area to where they watch tv and use computer and cook and eat dinner. The location is okay if you have a car rental as it is up a hill and a little far from public transportation. The view is beautiful and the bedroom area is roomy and living space is up some stairs and quite roomy as well but quite a few stairs to climb. The biggest drawback is the location of the washroom. There is no lock on the door separating the guest space from the rest of the house. Dianne and her husband were very friendly and although they were not there upon our arrival their son gave us the keys when we arrived. They were helpful in getting us information on the ferries to Vancouver Island.

The perfect escape from the city, with a playground of trails and hikes to keep you occupied. Dianne and Dennis were great hosts, offering advice and tips for the area. The place itself was great, with incredible views from the garden over the city. We hope to return again soon!

Dianne User ProfileDianne is a superhost.

I was born in Vancouver and moved to North Vancouver when I had my children who are now 22 and 26. I was a high school teacher in Vancouver for 36 years and enjoy biking, hiking and am looking forward to travelling now that I have retired.
