Beautiful area

Guests love this home’s scenic location.
Welcome to Lake Front Cabins! Nestled in the heart of June Lake, we’re a short walk from downtown, right next door to the marina, and a quick drive to Yosemite’s eastern gates (seasonal).

Our mountain town roots stretch back over the property’s 100 years of operation, the feel here is laid back and communal. Join us for bluebird skies, winter powder days, backcountry access, basin and range expanses, friendly folks, and some of the best trout fishing in CA.

The space
The Alpenglow Suite is a private, motel-style suite equipped with:

*Two Bedrooms: 1 queen, 2 twin beds.

*Living room: Includes a sofa bed that can sleep up to two more guests if needed, a TV, and a seating area.

*Bathroom: Our 3/4 bath includes a small shower (heads-up, it’s small!), a toilet, and a combination sink-vanity. We provide towels, toilet paper, a hair dryer, and shower toiletries.

*Kitchen: The compact kitchen is small but equipped for basic cooking. There’s a small attached dining space.

*Outdoor Space: Our communal courtyard is a great place to kick back after returning from your outdoor adventures! Enjoy three propane fire pits, Adirondack chairs, a chairlift seat, picnic tables, and grills (propane included).

Guest access
Guests have full access to their suite and shared access to the gas fire pits, barbecues, and picnic tables in our communal courtyard. Enjoy!

Other things to note
Before you book, read on to make sure we’re the right fit for your outdoor adventure!

We're new owners in the process of renaming the hotel, so despite what our current name suggests, we don't have direct beach access to June Lake (we're just over 500 feet from the lakeshore, separated by a National Forest buffer zone--it's public land and yours to traverse, though it’s typically marshy or snowy depending on the season). Additionally, your "cabin" is a private suite that shares a wall with a neighboring suite rather than a traditional standalone cabin.

We love traveling with our doggos, but unfortunately, this suite isn’t pet-friendly (we try to keep it as quiet as possible for neighboring suites). We do, however, have two pet-friendly options at the hotel and are happy to possibly accommodate you there.

When we say "historic,” we mean historic. Our digs stretch back a century, and sometimes, our “old-school” shows--winter nights can get chilly, and you may see an occasional four-to-eight-legged friend around the property or grounds. We like to think of ourselves as an extension of the greater Eastern Sierra ecosystem, so it’s all part of the fun.

While we do offer WiFi, the speed of our Internet *may* take twenty years off your life (although we promise the restorative power of nature will put those years right back on). The Alpenglow suite has always been the most challenging spot on the property for us due to its distance from the routers and extenders as well as the thick concrete construction that blocks the signal. While we can assure you we’ve spent countless hours with every single ISP in the area and offer up the best we possibly can, don’t expect to Zoom into meetings or (or much of anything, internet-wise) while you enjoy your stay in the great outdoors.

For the safety of our guests, we maintain outdoor security cameras to monitor wildlife visits, fire risk, hazardous elements, and other safety protocols.

Tioga Pass closes seasonally from mid-November through mid-May, during which time the only access to June Lake from the western Sierras is through the I-80 pass around Lake Tahoe or south of the Sierras near Los Angeles. You’ll want to build in extra driving time for fall, winter, and spring visits.

Occasionally, Highways 395 (North-South route from LA to Reno) and 158 (June Lake Loop) will close due to heavy snowfall. During winter, please be advised to carry snow chains in your vehicle to comply with CalTrans chain requirements and potential inclement weather.

Fire season typically falls between summer and early fall in the area, so air quality may be unhealthy during this time, particularly among sensitive groups.

We hope you enjoy this neck of the woods as much as we do. Welcome to June Lake!
