Apartment is small but sunny and light, with a nice outlook. Surrounded by restaurants, bars and student cafes. Trams at doorstep, next to Melbourne Central railway station. Opposite State Library, close to main sports arenas and universities.

The space

Close to the best of Melbourne: State Library, Federation Square, Victoria Art Gallery, MCG, Melbourne Park (Australian Open), Botanical Gardens, Melbourne University, RMIT, restaurants, cinemas, shopping.

Guest access

Small but adequate kitchenette with microwave and gas cooktop. Surrounded by eateries of every variety. Coin washer and dryer available next to apartment.

Interaction with guests

I will either meet you at the apartment or leave a keycard for you at reception if you are arriving during reception hours. Apart from that, you'll be on your own, but I am available if you have any problems.

Other things to note

There are ceiling fans but no air conditioner (it's a heritage building) so it does get hot after a succession of hot summer days. Melbourne can be very hot in summer. On the other hand, it can be mild. If you feel the heat, you might want to choose another place in summer.
A Unilodge operates from the building but my apartment is not part of Unilodge. I find the students generally quiet and respectful.

I couldn't fault this accommodation at all! Perfect location as described, walking distance to pretty much everything. Being a Queenslander I was worried I might feel cold in Melbourne but the accommodation had so many heating features I was more comfortable than I was back home. Catherine have thought of everything to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Very helpful instruction for checking in and how to get to the accommodation. Zero issues, I couldn't be happier :) Highly recommend Catherine's place for sure.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The apartment is truly central. We were able to catch public transportation and great food right outside the front door. It's on a noisy street and the walls are kind of thin, so bring earplugs if you're not used to city sounds at night. Catharine was very communicative and provisioned the apartment very generously.
