Luisa made sure we felt like home. She was doing her best to feel welcome at her home, which was comfortable, easily accessible, with clean bed and sheets, nothing to complain about. Most of the times she even cooked for us, which was a pleasant surprise. Luisa is a warm-hearted woman who is interested in all cultures, with a passionate and strong opinion about wold politics and secret societies. The dog and the turtle are an extra, definitely fun to have them around!

Interesting accommodation to say the least! 3 girls stayed in this attic room for 2 nights. The picture (and price) listed is misleading - it is of Luisa's daughter, not herself. Luisa is older which is fine, but the picture should reflect this. We felt welcome at first, but not later. Luisa asked for more money in cash saying that it is not fair to pay the price shown on the site, as she does not make any money from it. I said that this was not our fault, she should change the prices online. After this we felt very uncomfortable and ended up leaving to pay for a hotel instead on the last night. Luisa was unable to call from her mobile as she did not want to incur cost however this made it difficult for her to pick us up from the beach upon arrival (as she was not home in time) - she said she came to the beach simply looking for people with backpacks but had no idea what we looked like so it was a nonsensical way to find us (considering she did not answer texts and calls). When we arrived and needed showers, the bathroom light was not working and we were bathing by candlelight and were asked to use buckets to collect wastewater in order to save water and flush the toilet. We were not warned that there was a medium-sized turtle who called the bathroom home as well...had one of us not spotted it in the dim light we may have stepped on it/been extremely freaked out! Of course this did add comedy value to our trip, something we will never forget. There were Christmas trees up (in July) and shrines to monks all around - it was amusing but for some may seem weird, just FYI. We did enjoy the ambience though. And what we thought was generosity at the beginning (she cooked dinner for us and left out breakfast stuff), was later 'chargeable' and Luisa said the listing shows that food costs some money - this was simply not true and I tried to show her this on the website but she could not work the computer. Luisa is a conspiracy theorist and activist...lucky I am also aware of such issues and found it interesting however for people who are not into that kind of thing I would say that Luisa could come across as quite nutty and also likes to hijack conversations and be the centre of attention. Having said that, she also has a caring and motherly nature and the home is very eclectic with cool interior decor and quirkiness. But by day 3 we simply had to leave because it became clear that Luisa was only in this for the money and trying to make us pay more instead of modifying the site listing. Worth it for the funny stories but I have learnt now to only go with hosts who have more than one (positive) review!
