Where you’ll be

Athina, Greece

Recently, there has been a lot of talk about the small circular square of Agios Georgios in Kypseli, as it has become a favorite hangout of Athenians.
The square of Agios Georgios, located at the junction of the streets Ionian Islands, Ithaca, Hydra, and Antiparos and looks like a village square. In its few squares you can find restaurants, cafes, bars, grocery stores, patisserie, bakery, barbershop, laundry, convenience store, and butcher shop.

"Famous films of the old Greek cinema were shot here," he recalls Mr. Buddha such as "To soferaki", "Oi papatzides", "O Elias tou 16ou", "Poios Thanasis".
Features of the square are the brass lamppost in the center, and the church of Agios Georgios to the east. The church of Agios Georgios was founded the 1917. It was painted in the early 1950s by important painters, such as: Fotis Kontoglou, Dimitris Pelekasis, Ioannis Terezis, Spyros Papanikolaou, etc.
Another special feature of the square is the fact that the surrounding apartment buildings have an elliptical facade, which blends harmoniously with the circular square.
