"Our Treehouse Noosa North Shore”

"Our Treehouse" is the place for a family holiday or friends to gather
It's a great base to relax and explore the beach and bush of the "Cooloola" region and Double Island Point, the shopping of Noosa, and the restaurants of Noosaville.
It is our family holiday home.
“Our Treehouse” is set amongst award winning eco friendly architect designed homes in the Beach Road Holiday Homes gated community.

The space
You will have the run of a three storey three bedroom house, plus a shared leisure centre, pool complex and tennis courts.
The community is surrounded by acres of natural bush, a National Park, the Noosa River, Lake Cootharaba, and access to the iconic Upper Noosa River Everglades, the Great Cooloola Walk and the underpopulated North Shore beach.
Take a morning walk along the beach to Noosa's famous "Frying Pan", bring your fishing lines as you have a choice of beach or river fishing.
Vehicular beach access to Teewah, Red Canyon, Double Island Point and Rainbow Beach is close by.
It seems like an island getaway once you cross the river on the Tewantin Ferry. Yet it's only a short drive back to the restaurants and shops of both Noosaville or Noosa's famous Hastings Street and Main Beach.
The house sleeps 8 people and is literally in the trees overlooking the National Park. The northeasterly aspect allow for beautiful sea breezes all year round. There are ceiling fans in all rooms including the Alfresco BBQ area, and reverse cycle air-conditioning for added comfort on those hot summer nights, or cold winter evenings in all living areas and bedrooms. All windows are fully screened.
There are 3 built-in bed rooms which can be set up for two families, an extended family, or three couples:
Bedroom 1 on the upper floor has a QB with ensuite.
Bedroom 2 on the lower floor also has a QB.
Bedroom 3 is our "bunk room" and can be configured in 3 combinations:
•one king size bed; or
•king size bed with 2 single beds; or
•four single beds of a size suitable for both adults or children.
Our Treehouse has 2 living spaces with great sofas. In the upper floor living area there is a TV and DVD with Sony sound bar with bluetooth for your own music. There is an additional TV and DVD player downstairs.
Upstairs as well is a fully equipped kitchen which includes an ice maker fridge, dishwasher, microwave, and gas cooking appliances. We have a rice cooker, cake mixer, stick blender, and even an electric pizza oven for making your own pizza. Plus the usual pots and pans.
Upstairs is a fully insect screened Alfresco BBQ & outdoor area. We have high stools and bar table so you can see the "goings on" in the surrounding tree habitat. Whilst fully screened we also provide sandalwood sticks to burn and ward off any stray insects. You are in “nature” and you will experience all sorts of wildlife.
The lower floor living space is ideal for sitting back and relaxing, watching TV, playing board games, reading a book, or just doing nothing!
The deck adjoining this room extends out to the natural bush setting, and is not screened.
The lower floor has a laundry with washer and dryer, a separate toilet and separate bathroom. The bathroom has a shower and large bath - with bush views.
The upper floor has a separate powder room (toilet).
Unfortunately "Our Treehouse" has only one large water tank, so we ask you be considerate of your water use.
Our Treehouse is not wheel chair friendly. Although the older we get - the sooner it might be.
There is an open stair connecting all floors - so toddlers/crawlers will need to be watched. We do have a gate for upstairs, plus a porta cot and high chair.
We operate a self-check in, so the check in and check out times are "flexible". We will agree times after your booking is confirmed.

Guest access
There is no public transport access to or from Our Treehouse into Tewantin or Noosaville. You will require your own vehicle.

It's a $16 ferry ride each way per car on the ferry and $1 return walk-on or on a bike.

We recommend you bring all your own food supplies. In Tewantin there is a Woolworth's supermarket plus a butcher and a bakery, plus many other stores and coffee shops. BWS & Liquorland have stores in Tewantin, or there is a Dan Murphy's in Noosaville.

There is a general store and cafe in the nearby pub (which you pass on the way), and there’s a store further down the road toward the “ Third Cutting “ in the beachfront campground. They stock most essentials should you forget anything. They are all at "island" prices. No daily papers or coffee available in the area.

Nearest fuel is available at the roundabout before you head down to the ferry.

There is a 4WD under body wash also near the pub, which you will pass on the way.
It is not cheap for an underbody wash ($22), plus they charge extra for the brush on soap suds and pressure wash, plus extra for the vacuum.

We ask you do not use the house water for car washing - WE ARE ON FILTER AND PURIFIED TANK WATER

Other things to note
The complex:
In the complex, there is a "Leisure Centre" which offers everything for a family or friends on holiday.
The Leisure Centre is 700m from our Tree House. We are the farthermost house, which you may like or not. Which us farthermost from all the other holiday makers.
It is set around four pool areas which caters for all ages with a toddler's pool, a lap pool, plunge pool and hot spa pool, plus change rooms toilets and showers.
More during busy / peak times it is essential you book a time slot for the spa. There’s a small whiteboard in the walkway as you enter the pool complex.
A separate games room for young adults, with pool table and two x-box / play stations free of charge.
A separate younger children's playroom with hard & soft toys, games, bean bags and a TV with a selection of children's DVDs.
And a separate lounge area, complete with a large screen TV, with restricted Foxtel service, two ice maker fridges, with kitchenette, dishwasher & microwave for those social gatherings.
Adjoining the Leisure Centre is a full sized tennis court (with lighting), BBQ area and a large grassed area to share with the Kangaroos at dusk.
Bookings for the tennis courts are a must during busy times - we use a whiteboard and honesty system.
Note the Managers will respond to noisy and unruly behaviour. Read instructions about pool and games room behaviour and parent supervision.

Beach and Bites:
The first beach access is 2 km away - a short drive with parking adjacent the beach. If you have a 4WD you can drop onto the beach – it’s a very easy get on and get off most year-round. Watch it after storms have been through.
4WD access to the beach will require you to book a vehicle access permit for the Cooloola Recreation Area from the QPWS Bational Parks website. You will need to set up an account on line. This can be done via our free wi fi.

Eating - near by is the Noosa North Shore pub which offers a free courtesy bus from the gate, but it is an easy walk/drive away. It has limited opening times outside of peak holiday season (like any good island). Good pub food and wine or beer selection. It's great for the kids with undercover jumping “air pillow", climbing wall, mini golf and even laser tag.
Back across the ferry Cooroy, Tewantin or Noosaville all nave a multitude of restaurants, pubs, surf clubs, yacht club. You will never be short for choice.
Ask us for recommendations.

What to do when you are here (three days will never be enough):
Short Walks
From our treehouse you can walk sealed roads around the complex, there are some bush tracks into the national park opposite our driveway, and we have an aerial photo to show you these in the house manual.
There are walks along the surf beach between 1st & 3rd “cutting", or longer walks to the Noosa River mouth entrance (and Frying Pan") from the 1st cutting (approx 5km return), or extreme walks to Rainbow Beach along the Cooloola Way (a five day expedition).

Boating and fishing – bring your boat or kayak and head up river to Lake Cooribah, or further to Lake Cootharaba. Or take the Everglades Tours from Noosaville or Tewantin to the world recognised Noosa Everglades – check their brochure.
Launch your boat or kayak in the river next to the ferry. Note it is an extra fee for the boat & trailer on the ferry - check with the Noosa North Shore Ferries website. It’s approx $10 extra.

There are popular fishing spots north and south of the launch site.
Fish the relatively unpopulated surf beach gutters all the way north to Double Island Point as well.

Canoe/Kayak the Noosa River or Lake Corooibah (there is a walkway behind the North Shore pub which takes you down to the shallow and tidal lake). Or you can drive to Elanda Point on Lake Cootharaba to hire canoes and kayaks and launch here for a great paddle on the lake or up to the Everglades. A big day out.

Or take a day tour and kayak around Double Island Point. Awesome in whale season. Guaranteed to see something – dolphins and turtles especially common. We can provide names of operators.

4WD expeditions - to Double Island Point and/or Rainbow Beach township which can be done in a day providing you pick the tides correctly (low tide at midday is best).
Allow one hour to drive the 48 km to Double Island Point, plus an extra half hour to Rainbow Beach. Visit the Carlo sand blow from the township and the famous rainbow coloured sands along the way. You can also take the road back - it heads into Gympie, then you head back south along the Bruce Highway.
If you don’t like the beach, there are various inland easy 4WD tracks heading to Rainbow Beach via Boreen Point (great pub here) and then through the Cooloola National Park to Harry's Hut (and beyond).

Horse Riding – by arrangement there is horse riding available by operators at the “2nd Cutting”. They offer beach riding. Check their brochures in our manual.

Do nothing – lounge around the pool or just hang out at our treehouse and listen and gaze at the marvellous sculptural scribbly gums and blood woods. Spot the black cockatoos feeding on the banksia nuts, or the lazing goanna high in the trees just outside our deck.

Bicycles:
We now have various size bikes for your use.
Please be careful with them, we do not have lights, so only for use during the day. If you'd prefer to bring your own helmets please do so.
We provide a chain and padlock for securing them.
Ride them to the leisure centre.
It is about 5-10 min bike ride to the beach (via "1st Cutting"), or for the more adventurous, take the track across the national park opposite Our Treehouse, this takes you to Frying Pan Track Road, turn left at the road and travel the gravel road to the mouth of the Noosa River - called the Frying Pan!! It is 7 km one way.
There is a map in our house manual which you will need to follow the correct roads. You may want to memorise this!

We both love travelling having met over 30 years ago in Europe... travelling. We graduated from sleeping mats to tents to soft top campers to hard top campers to having our own Airbnb holiday home. We love the socialising you have when travelling. Now we wish to share our holiday home with the Airbnb community. We have loved hosting these past years on Airbnb, and introduced friends and family to the Airbnb experience. We stayed in many excellent Airbnb places, Istanbul, Toowoomba, Dubrovnik, Zagreb to name a few and we love the houses, the locations and mostly our hosts. We hope we can host as good at Our Treehouse, and be so good to our guests. At Our Treehouse, we love the serenity of the bush location in the middle of large gums. And we love the proximity to the beach - approx 50km of white sandy beach. Sometimes you have the whole beach all to yourselves. Its about a 10 minute easy bike ride, or less if you drive. The location is very very quiet, so be prepared for this. The mecca of Noosa and Noosaville are not far away either if you prefer some retail therapy and company of holiday makers. We love there are so many things to do. We will point out the local things you could do whilst you are here at Noosa North Shore - where you can catch the sunsets over the lake, how to hire a 4WD for a day trip up the beach, or where to hire electric bikes. If you prefer kayaking with dolphins turtles manta rays and whales (in winter season) we can recommend who can pick you up from our front gate! If you would like to see beautiful reflections in the everglades, where can point out where to catch the Everglades ferry. And if you'd like to horse ride along the beach we can point out the two local company's that do this. You may even need to return again to see everything!! Two nights is barely enough time to sample the area we know as NNS.
