Room in a townhouse

Your own room in a home, plus access to shared spaces.
The upstairs includes two rooms plus a bathroom for guest use. One bedroom includes a queen bed, and the other has a twin bed and desk. Guests have the upstairs to themselves, and use of the kitchen, living room and laundry. The host’s bedroom and bathroom are on the main level. Manhattan Kansas is a midwestern town (not NY). Finally, the maximum number of guests is three. The open floor plan makes it hard to get ready without disturbing anyone in the living room, so that doesn’t work well.

The space
One room is furnished with a queen size bed, two nightstands, small chest of drawers, and the other includes a twin size bed and desk and chair. The only other room on the upstairs floor is the bathroom you will have to yourself. Airbnb classifies this as "one room" because it's not a whole house and I don't price each bedroom separately, but you can use both bedrooms. Sheets, towels and travel-size soap/shampoo/etc are provided. Breakfast might be prepared depending on the day of the week. If I'm at work, then fruit, cereal, bread, coffee and juice will be ready for you. Please note that Manhattan Kansas is NOT near Manhattan New York.

Guest access
Laundry, kitchen, living room and back patio with a grill are available to guests. Laundry detergent, all dishes and cookware, and the living room are ready for your use. And if you need a little oil, salt, or any other common kitchen staple, there is no need for you to buy a package when you can use a few tablespoons of mine.

During your stay
I am here after work and happy to share a meal, conversation, or coffee. But if our schedules don't match up, I can let you in and you can make yourself at home. I can easily accommodate checking in after work, but please email and ask if you need an earlier check-in. With a little notice I usually can.

Other things to note
I have reduced rates for long stays. That rate assumes you will clean your bedroom and bathroom yourself (towels and sheets are provided, along with the washer/dryer and detergent). It also assumes you will provide your own breakfast, and have use of the fridge, cookware, etc. to enjoy your own morning favorites. My vacuum is heavy, so please ask if you need help carrying it upstairs.

Neighbourhood highlights

I've lived in Manhattan my whole life so I'm happy to suggest favorite restaurants, activities, hikes, road cycling routes, or take you to local paddling in my two kayaks. The neighborhood is good for evening walking, and close to a trailhead of the city-circling Linear Trail for runners and bicyclists.
