Private getaway

Guests say this area offers privacy.
Tucked into an avenue of giant oaks, this cypress cottage in historic Amelia City is destined to become your favorite get-away place. Unique, eclectic and memorable with all the comforts of home, it’s Amelia Island Paradise: Buccaneer Trail.

The space
The cottage on Buccaneer Trail is 1600 square feet of luxury with three bedrooms, though one is set up to be a home office and/or sitting room. The kitchen is fully equipped and super spacious. The televisions are Vizio Smart TVs: 65” in the living room entertainment center and 32” in the office/sitting room. Jet tubs are in both bathrooms for your ultimate relaxation. The cypress wood construction, interior and exterior, is a taste of Old Florida, when homes were built using the wood from the Bald Cypress, a tree native to the southeast which was preferred by the Indians and early settlers in Florida. The bedrooms have comfortable queen size beds that you will wish you never had to get out of. The couch in the office is a fold-out queen size bed. The back deck is a great way to enjoy our fabulous North Florida weather and the back yard is fenced.

There are many restaurants on the island, and some of the best are very near the cottage on Buccaneer Trail. Amelia Island is a golfers paradise with five courses and one of them, the Amelia River, also located on Buccaneer Trail, is in walking distance to the cottage. The cottage is on the Amelia Island Trail, a network of bike paths that crisscross Amelia Island and is linked to the East Coast Greenway. Fun things to do on the island are riverboat excursions, four Putt Putt courses, kayak rentals and tours, a great history museum, Fort Clinch State Park, many beach access points with free parking and lots of great shopping. And, I could go on... and will be happy to offer you free advice about the cool stuff to do while you are here.

Other things to note
While Buccaneer Trail is an extremely busy state road, the house is well insulated and the traffic sounds are relatively minor inside. But, if you bring children or pets, make sure they are well supervised.

My work: Real Estate
Speaks English
Friendly and happy would be words to describe me. I love hosting for AirBnB and have four listings, whose names all begin with Amelia Island Paradise: My Sea Escape, Southern Charm, Southern Style and Buccaneer Trail. If you see reviews that sound like they are describing different places, it is because they are! I am a native Floridian, my ancestors were Florida pioneers, coming to Northeast Florida and acquiring Spanish land grants just after the Revolutionary War. I have lived on Amelia Island most of my life and I believe it to be Paradise! I love history, especially local history and I am very active with the DAR - Daughters of the American Revolution and Colonial Dames 17th Century. I have been a Realtor on the island for too many years to count, so if you want to know anything about our area, just ask... Come visit us and you will be assured of a memorable vacation in Paradise!
