We had a wonderful three night stay in the house. The setting is unique, tranquil, and magical. The house is located on a bluff separating rolling pastures from the ocean, so below you on one side will be some cows and other farm creatures, and on the other will be the ocean. …

Thanks, Benjamin, for taking the time to review the villa. I am so glad you enjoyed your stay in spite of the water pump problem. I will pass this review along to the owners. There is some deferred maintenance... We just had the entire thatch roof redone, which sort of shot a hole in their budget. Maybe you can message me about what you feel are the most important projects to address. Thanks for staying with us. Happy trails.

We had a wonderful stay - 5 nights and really did not want to go home. The views and whale watching is fantastic - we woke up the first morning to the sound of a whale spouting just below the house and we saw some 15 whales from the house during the stay . We could surely have s…

We're so pleased to know you enjoyed your stay in the villa. You hit two highlights with whale watching and your visit to Rincon Beach but there is, as you know, lots more to explore. Perhaps you'll visit again one day, though Denmark is pretty far away! Thanks for the suggestions for improving the instructions for GETTING TO CASA DEL MAR and pointing out some minor maintenance issues like burned out light bulbs. Appreciate that!

Yes, I am so sorry the roof was damaged just before your visit. And I'm sorry you were not able to accept the upgrade I offered you for the same price. A home which costs more than twice as much as the one you rented. You would have had a wonderful time watching whales from the swimming pool. You'd have had A/C rather than fans. A heated jacuzzi in one of the 5 master bedrooms, Etc., etc. Again, very sorry, and I hope you found a suitable place to stay. Take care. Cindy

The house is very nice with everything you need (though the kitchen is a bit worn) and the views and pool area are wonderful. I think we must have seen at least 50 whales from the pool area while we were there. We did have a problem when we arrived, because we were about an hour …

Thanks for staying with us. I usually do have Plan B! But I send detailed directions about how to find this difficult-to-find villa for occasions just like this. And the watchman is always there to receive guests. I just got there a bit later and it was great to meet all of you. I'll mention the kitchen to the owners. They do like to upgrade things as necessary.

5 of stayed in the villa for 5 nights and had a wonderful time. The villa is in a rural area, surrounded by farms, mountain and ocean. The views are lovely and we really enjoyed getting away from the resorts and having a more local stay. We woke up to the sounds of roosters, cows…

The owners and I are happy to know you enjoyed the place so much! Please come back any time, and bring your beautiful service dog Paige, with you. We loved having ALL of you! Yup, internet is sometimes a bit slow. But it gets better every year... I'll let Noelia know you enjoyed her cooking.

Cindy has organized our stay perfectly, we received so many valuable information already prior arrival, and we got immediately answers and support to all our questions. Thanks to Cindy for such a great hospitality over X-Mas 2015.

Thank you, Jens, for such a nice review! I am always happy to help. And thanks also for the suggestions on how to improve the experience, like mentioning the all night grocery store on the road from Santo Domingo. I will include that in the information I send from now on. HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Cindy, really. No one calls me Cynthia. My life motto, which seems to work MOST of the time: Que el viento se lleve tus problemas. (Let the wind take your troubles away.) I'm fairly well-traveled and had never stayed in the same place for more than 2 or 3 days during any o…
