As with much of the surrounding Ao Nang area, this home isn't anything to write home about. The accommodations are OK. The fully stocked kitchen has plenty of pots and pans, but you'll need to purchase salt, pepper, oil, etc. There is a mini fridge that can hold a small amount of food/beverages. What the property description doesn't mention is that this house is part of a shared lot with 4 other homes. One of the residents is a Rooster breeder so don't expect to sleep past 6am. The property also serves as the local hangout/snooker club. All the locals are super nice and will gladly play you for 10bht a ball. The water is supplied by a pump to the house (pretty typical), but we had the pump go out during our stay. No big deal just make sure you go to the store and get big jugs of water before arriving. There is no drinking water at the house. The AC works great in the 1 bedroom. The property is listed as a 2 bed, but it actually has one bed and a small love seat. That love seat is also the only seating in the home. Guests should be prepared to rent a scooter for the duration of the stay. It's a 10min walk to town and about a 45min walk to the beach, uphill both ways. There is a nice German style restaurant 5 min from the house (actually the best "Thai" food we had in Ao Nang). Tiger Cave Temple and many other attractions are just a small drive away. The home is a nice retreat from the packed Ao Nang hostel scene.

pros: + Privacy from the main, busy street: good location for those who have transport + Beautiful location + Spacious and not the usual house for two people + Has a kitchen + Lots of fans + Air-conditioned bedrooms minuses: - The house was not clean, it was damp - Very little space for storing and drying things, no hangers - No hair dryer, iron and ironing board, washing machine, for whom it is important: no TV - No hot water, only warm - As it is the jungle, your companions are always ants, mosquitoes and other insects and animals, but it is not critical. We were not the most pleasant experience of the first few days of your stay due to the fact that the house was not prepared for the guests, but after everything got better - I will not go into details. I just want to thank Natalie for a discount, and wish to be more attentive to the guests and make the house even more comfortable and better. Thank you.

Very very green and peaceful, location is little bit far from the busy area but once you got scooter it's all fine~ bathroom is nicely let the sunshine in a bit and house is decorated with nice pictures and some books, hammock is fantastic! only problem is drinking water don't drink directly from tap, too much minerals, and second floor sleeping room has a lot of mosquito!

As our first taste of Airbnb after a few nights at the delicious and picturesque Railei Beach Club it was nice to be in our own place for a week. Natalie kindly arranged for her driver (Dot) to collect us from Ao Nang and he was happy to take us to the airport very early on our last day. Dot was prompt, courteous and reliable. The house was simple and nicely styled. Noo (the caretaker) was helpful, friendly and busy building his new home next door. It was a surprisingly easy walk to Ao Nang shopping, restaurants and beach. We found the location very handy. We loved our Ao Nang holiday and thank Natalie for her kindness and generosity. Would be awesome to return... soon!!

A great place to stay! We loved it here. Nice and quiet away from the bustle of Ao Nang's centre, and Noo was awesome. Natalie's communication was helpful and prompt. Although it was a 10 minute walk to the main street it was significantly longer to the beach. In retrospect, we would have been better to get scooters straight away but we thought there must have been a better or quicker way to get to the beach- there wasn't. The tuk tuk back was 50 B per person. Ao Nang beach is more commercialized to the north and the south of the beach was much more chilled and quiet. Getting a long tail boat around to Tonsai Beach- 5-10mins away- is awesome. Nice and quiet, clean, and not super busy like Railay and Ao Nang. Longtail boats to Hong Island, Tonsai Beach etc is the way to go if you are after a chilled out time on awesome beaches. In Ao Nang, there is a big Tesco supermarket and heaps of great food and bars- the newly opened Party House at the south end of the beach but back off the main strip has great food and a chilled atmosphere. We would definitely stay here again!

We really enjoyed our stay at Natalie's lovely 2 story house. We loved waking up to the amazing view of palm trees which glaze in the sun. When you go downstairs to take your morning shower the sun follows you until the bathroom where it comes in through some transparent roof tiles. It's the best thing to start your day :) The house has a lot of little nice details and in general has everything you need, good equipped kitchen, living room with sofa and a very comfortable mattress up in the sleeping room. Everything appears like displayed on the pictures and is in good shape and clean. It's in a Thai neighborhood but very close to the touristy Ao Nang, but that makes it somehow special because you can relax there in the hammock and have a good sleep without the noisy restaurants and bars of Ao Nang. You can actually decide if you want it crowded and touristy by leaving the property at the left hand side or you go right and enter a nice Thai village with a great food market on Mo, Tues and Friday, where you can buy everything you wish, fruits, vegetable, seafood, meat - very cheap and super fresh. The alternative to this market is a good sorted supermarket called tesco lotus and two little deli's which offer good imported stuff. The beach is close, like 20 walking minutes but I'd recommend renting a motorbike which is cheap and opens you a good possibility to visit all the beaches nearby and makes life definitely more comfortable. Noo the caretaker of the house is very friendly and was always there when we needed something. He even has a good friend who has a climbing school in Railay. Climbing in Railay and Tonsai Beach is a great experience which you shouldn't miss when staying there. Ask Noo he will contact you with his friend. We haven't me Natalie but she was very attentive via email which was very helpful. To sum up we extended our stay two times and would love to come back one day. It's definitely one of the best places to stay in Ao Nang. If you want to feel at home in your holidays and experience real Thai life that's the place to be. We highly recommend Natalie's house. Thank you Natalie for letting us stay in your lovely house.

Originally from Australia, I have been living and working in Asia (Thailand, Laos and Hong Kong since 1992) and like to spend as much time as I can in this quiet little house and garden in Krabi. If you haven't been to Krabi before, it is really something special.
