The space

This is a very unique, spacious bedroom suite in the casco antigua of Vejer, just a few minutes walk to Plaza de España. Attention has been given to every detail; there is small hanging closet next to the bed, a small kitchenette space has been created perfect for breakfast & tapas with a cold glass of wine. There is small fridge just outside the room with a tea kettle & is equipped with basic cooking necessities for the occasional meal. Lovely & spacious patio to have your breakfast. Old stone arches are in the bedroom, patio & bathroom & date back several centuries. The bathroom is done with travertine & 1920's glass tiles & is separated from the bedroom by an ancient stone archway & a curtain, (not a door).
internet wifi
Just 5 minute walk to Plaza de España where there are delicious restaurants & tapas bars & many festivities. Vejer is extremely rich in cultural surprises, music throughout the town, outside restaurants, a sweet flea market the first Sat of the month & spectacular beaches just 12 km away.
I absolutely love it here!

All is wonderful, the atmosphere, the location, access to the flat and all commincations. We had a greiat experience and a pleasant stay. I would however warn thouse who need a sound access to the internet that the signal from the router does not reach the appartment and you need to access it in the patio.

To stay in any of Debra's properties (and she has a few in Vejer, so If La Fuente is booked have a look at the others) is not only a pleasure and a delight but also an experience. Each, similar in intent, but different in the detail, is exquisitely appointed and decorated in a way that respects the history of the building whilst adding her personal artistic flair and eye for beauty. Apart from the unique aesthetics which you would be hard-pressed to find anywhere else in the town, or anywhere for that matter, you have everything you need for your comfort and Debra is usually available to answer any of your queries. Check-in and check-out was seamless, thanks to the key safes. Vejer itself is unforgettable. I was there for 10 days during July which is high season but it didn't feel particularly busy. I didn't have a car which wasn't easy but not impossible. So in summary, if you are in any doubt, go to Vejer and book La Fuente, or one of Debra's other flats. You will have no regrets.

Really nice old room off a beautiful courtyard. Great location too. Would definitely recommend it!

The place is situated just minutes from the main plaza and close to various parking options, making it very convenient. The room is charming and has all the basic amenities. A note for those who are tall, the bed is quite small. The windows would benefit from screens to keep out the bugs. While the courtyard is lovely, it serves as a walkway for other guests and makes the room a little less private than we would have preferred. Nonetheless, a good option when staying in Vejer.

Debra was great to work with, very responsive and flexible. The house consists, I think, of 4 units, 3 of which are let out as apartments and the other occupied by a pleasant and friendly local lady. Both the gardener, Carlos, and Debra's representative, Juani, were also very pleasant to interact with. The apartment we stayed in is on the ground floor and has exclusive use of the plant-filled patio with a table and two chairs. This was a lovely space to sit out in and was flooded with sunlight. It is in an area of the building that the other occupants need to pass through as they come and go, but this facilitates interaction and was actually quite nice. There is also, adjacent to the patio, a small area with a hob, microwave and fridge. We found this perfectly adequate for preparing eats and drinks - there are great restaurants in Vejer and we didn't want to cook fancy meals ourselves. There is, as pointed out in the description, no sink in the 'mini-kitchen' but this was fine as it is very near the sink in the bathroom. The apartment itself was very nice. It is a little dark, but this keeps it relatively cool. We only discovered a fan on top of the wardrobe towards the end of our stay. It was very dusty so I assume other visitors had also not noticed it. With the fan going the room was a comfortable temperature. One disadvantage of being on the ground floor of a very old building was that the room had a very slightly damp feel to it. Nothing hugely significant but the presence of a de-humidifier in the room suggests this can be somewhat of an issue. As highlighted in the description of the apartment, the bathroom has a curtain rather than a door but this was fine for us. The shower was really terrific, good force and plenty of hot water. One minor issue we had was that the 'fitted' sheet on the bed didn't actually fit terribly well and came adrift every night. Again, in no way a deal breaker. The location is great, with a local grocery shop just up the street and the centre of Vejer about 5 minutes walk. All-in-all a really nice stay.

I am a creative being & very sensitive to my surroundings. I love art & architecture & refer to what I do as integrating art & architecture, the 2 things I'm most stimulated by. I also love music & being with other creative people that also have the need to share something of themselves with the world. I just started renting with airb&b & think it is a fantastic way to connect with people & places in a respectful & honest way!
