Spectacular garden view apartment at Buxton Manor, located in North Adelaide. Featuring 2 bedrooms with antique brass queen in the master. Offers glorious lounge & drawing room with stunning antique furniture, full kitchen & complimentary carparking.

The space

This is a light lavish, very spacious Manor suite of 5 huge grand rooms with polished floors, high marbled ceilings, marbleized fireplace and beautiful, valuable Victorian
antiques. The Romantic master bedroom, with decorative silverware and softly hued antique lights and an open fire, overlooks the sunken rose garden, through Scottish lace Curtains. The drawing room walls are hung with colonial paintings of the era and furnished with magnificent Arts and Crafts and Barossa Valley antiques including a beautifully carved Australian Cedar Chaise Lounge.
The drawing room has imported spruce polished floor boards and William Morris inspired drapes. Many formal drinks parties were held in this sumptuous spacious elegant room by the legal eagles of Adelaide as they discussed the Countries
Constitution, warmed by the open fire.
The kitchen has lovely Colonial furniture, interesting curios, a breakfast table and a kitchen pantry. Diamond lead-light windows flank the front portico which leads into
the grand entrance foyer with its Raj like Bishops Coffer and magnificent hall furniture. The second bedroom has sweet antique single beds and a lovely white child’s rocker, which you enter from the Master bedroom. It looks out into a rose garden & sweeping lawns. International magazines and novels to read could entertain you for a week.
This fine country house apartment has all the amenities of
a fine hotel, with the space, ambience & friendliness we are
known for.

Our stay at the George Lowe Esquire home was excellent - the house is elegant, comfortable and has a very special atmosphere. The history of the home is particularly interesting, and the grounds are beautiful.

Lovely large apartment in a great area - loved the cafe just down the road. We loved the antique furniture and the beautiful green garden. The very nice caretaker brought us over an oil heater to put in the second room for our babies and we were having trouble getting even heating throughout the apartment. Was great to have open fires in the living area with 24 hours' notice. Wifi cost was excessive and so we didn't use it. All in all we had a great stay. The apartment is beautiful.

This is an amazing, historic apartment! My little family loved staying here - it's an easy walk to parks and the North Adelaide village. Our hosts provided a cot and high chair which made it so much easier since we were traveling with kids.

This is a beautiful but flawed property. Unfortunately a lot of the necessary information was not forthcoming on the Airbnb website. So if booking the following needs taking into account. You have to pay $12 per day extra for limited wifi. You have to pay $25 per day extra for the open fire. You need to let them know 24 hours in advance if you want to have a fire. The second bedroom can only be accessed via the main bedroom. The bedroom and living room are large, beautifully furnished and of high quality BUT the bathroom is very small and low quality with a very small sink and shower and no heating (it was freezing in Adelaide). However, when I complained, a fan heater was provided in the bathroom. The hosts also built a fire when I complained that I hadn't been informed about giving 24 hours notice. This property would work for a family but certainly not for two couples etc because of the location of the second bedroom.

This was my third visit to the buxton address and my sixth visit to one of the historic homes... nothing but good things to say about the experiences... North Adelaide is near by.. great food sources... local supermarket is and convenient parking ...
