Peace and quiet

This home is in a quiet area.
Allow the sound of the ocean waves to rock you to sleep each night. Casita Luna, one of three unique dwellings at Casitas de Cortez, is perfectly situated 2 blocks from the best beaches in Baja. Revive your spirit and step into another world where there are “no bad days” and life flows with sunshine, sand, sea, great food, nice people and a laid-back vibe. Each casita has its own private outdoor hot tub that is fed by a natural hot spring that is unique to this town. Pure, simple bliss.

The space
With a brand new palapa roof (made from pine logs and palm fronds), this round one-room casita has a completely unique feel that is sweet in its simplicity. You have a beautiful view of the turquoise water of the Sea of Cortez and your own personal hot spring-fed outdoor hot tub. The hot spring aquifer flows underneath the casitas which emits a high-vibrational, soothing energy. Each casita has a private toilet and private shower inside. Also includes 2 beach chairs, beach towels and a beach umbrella so you can get right down to the beach, a 2 minute walk.

Guest access
The casitas have private parking on-site. We are located at the end of a street with no thru-traffic -- very quiet, private and serene. This is not the party scene of Cabo. Spa Buena Vista is a small neighborhood town with a mix of Mexican families, Americans and Canadians who live here part time in the high-season. A rental car is recommended. There is no bus stop at Spa Buena Vista and it is not walkable to Los Barriles, the nearest large town with a bus stop.

Other things to note
Each casita has a private kitchenette, shower and toilet inside. The Sea of Cortez, which is 2 blocks away, is swimmable and there is great snorkeling within walking distance.

PETS: only one pet (dog) allowed, well-behaved and potty-trained. Guests are not allowed to leave the pet unattended in the casita for any length of time. The pet is not allowed on furniture (couch or bed). Please be sure to pick up dog poop whether that be at the casitas or at the beach.

Neighbourhood highlights

Revive your spirit. For the traveler who wishes to get away from the tourist hubs, wants a break from the traditional motel room, but still enjoys simple, comfortable amenities at an affordable price, Casitas de Cortez, located in Spa Buena Vista, BCS, are hard to beat. These casitas are located 45 miles north of Cabo San Lucas on the beautiful Sea of Cortez with direct access to literally miles of white sandy beach. Casita Luna is one of three casitas on the property available for rent. Check out Casita Vista and Casita Sierra for other options. These unique casitas are round, one-room studio-type cottages with palapa roofs. Each casita includes a private shower, private bathroom, kitchenette and private hot springs hot tub outside the casita.

The nearby town of Los Barriles has all the necessities: a nice variety of restaurants, grocery stores, a bank, ATMs, sport rental companies and plenty of shopping options. But, fishing, windsurfing, hiking, snorkeling, beach walking, mountain biking or just plain relaxing are what life is about in Spa Buena Vista.

Each unique thatched-roof casita is complete with a shower, toilet, sink, mini fridge, coffee maker, two-burner propane stove top, wireless internet, comfortable beds and an outdoor soaking tub (filled by a natural hot spring). The casitas have great views of the Sea of Cortez and and it is an easy 2 minute stroll to an endless white sand beach. You can even walk the beach into Los Barriles if you are up to a 7 miles round trip hike. The surrounding residential neighborhood is quiet, safe and relaxing. All the water for the community comes from a natural underground hot spring. The water system is turned on at 8 AM and turned off at 6 PM. During the down time water is gravity fed from tower mounted "tanakas." If you like salt water fishing, some of the best is right at your doorstep. During the winter, some of the world's finest windsurfing is a kite board away.

WHEN TO COME: It's all good, but near perfect weather can best be found March to June, and mid-October to December. July through September has some of the best fishing, but these are the hottest months. You'll want to put ice in your soaking tub to cool off in the evening. Mid-December to March are the windy months, drawing windsurfers and kite boarders to the area. Sunny with highs in the mid 70's and lows of 60. Evenings may require a sweatshirt in these "winter" months. But, no matter when you come there is something for everyone and the days are almost always bright and sunny.

So, check out Casita Luna (part of the Casitas de Cortez property), soak in your private spa water tub, enjoy a piece of unspoiled paradise, and plan an unforgettable vacation. Unique, simple, comfortable and affordable - an unbeatable combination.
