*Fully booked for 2021* Now taking bookings for Easter and Summer 2022.

Be prepared for a very special stay. We've recently bought Anthony Cottage and it's our dream family home right by the water.

There are 3 lovely pubs nearby, local shop 5 min drive, Truro/Falmouth 15 mins drive. Ideally located to explore the beaches on the north and south coasts.

A hamper of local produce and essentials, logs, and all linens provided.

The space
Ideal for 2 families, or a small group of friends, the cottage is the end one in a terrace of 3 traditional Cornish cottages built in 1860, located 50m from the sea, opposite the village orchard with the village green at the rear.

From the front door, you'll only need to walk a few paces to Point Quay to sit on one of the waterside benches for the most wonderful views right next to the sea. The Quay is a haven for children and adults alike. You can jump into the sea or go crabbing, it’s ideal for kayaking and paddleboarding (both can be borrowed during your stay), and the start of some fabulous scenic walks and cycles in our Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. You can find out more about what's nearby, a little further down this page underneath the map.

This is our home, so we're just making it available at Easter and from the end of July to end of August and running 7 night min stays with the changeover day on Friday. We have a couple of other holiday cottages (linked in my profile) so know the small details to make your stay one to remember, and we remove all personal belongings so it feels like your home while you're here.

Our calendar is always up to date. Please send your booking request and I'll reply almost straight away.

About the cottage:
First of all, the cottage is upside down to take advantage of the spectacular views. You can enter through the front door onto the ground floor where the bedrooms are located, or enter around the side and up through the Atrium doors onto the first floor where the living areas are located.

As you enter through the front door, you'll walk through the internal porch, and into the hallway. The 4 bedrooms are all off the hallway and all have new beds and bedding. Bedroom 1 has a king size bed, bedroom 2: a huge queen size bed and ensuite with WC/shower, bedroom 3: 2 singles, and bedroom 4 has 2 singles. The main bathroom is at the end of the hall with bath, over bath shower and WC.

Upstairs you'll find the large living room with sea views from all windows, big new comfy sofas, bean bags, log burning stove and a 50 inch smart TV (high speed Wifi broadband throughout). At the other end of the living room there's a pool table and views to the sea. The hallway leads through to the kitchen past an upstairs WC.

The kitchen has a large 110cm electric Rangemaster hob with 2 ovens and a grill, Bialetti moka pot and milk frother for the best Cornish coffees, kettle, toaster, microwave, fridge/freezer and dishwasher.

The kitchen leads through to the Atrium dining/entertaining room, with all windows onto the garden. The table seats 8 and there's another wood burning stove in the wall that creates a really cosy atmosphere in the evening. At the other end, there are some comfy armchairs for lounging. There are doors to both a roof terrace with outdoor sofas for the most wonderful views of the water, and a bridge to the 3 level pretty cottage garden, with outdoor tables and BBQ. (Both doors have gates to stop small children from leaving whilst keeping the doors open).

There is also an office area with extra long desk, the comfiest Herman Miller office chair, sea views, and glass doors either side if you need to section off any children in the evenings or check emails and Zoom (if you really must!!).

There is parking outside for 2 vehicles and a few steps away for more. If you have an EV you can run a cable through one of the bedroom windows right next to the parking spots to charge off the mains.

Cot and highchair are available on request. No

Where you’ll be

Devoran, England, United Kingdom

The lovely waterside scenery of the hamlet of Point is ever changing with the tide as the estuary fills with sea water and empties twice a day. With Point Quay adjacent to the cottage, this is truly a stunning location. The Quay is ideal for swimming, crabbing, and for launching kayaks and paddle boards which can be borrowed during your stay.

A 5 min drive away and you are at Loe Beach where there is a lovely cafe and a watersports centre (hire/lessons) for adults and kids including sailing, windsurfing and some amazing paddleboard and kayak exploration.

The estuary leads onto the sailing waters of The Carrick Roads and out to Falmouth, St Mawes, and The Roseland Peninsula. Truro and Falmouth are only 15 mins drive away, and the wonderful beaches on the North Coast are only 20-30 mins away. The quiet and beautiful hidden beaches of the Roseland are easily reachable via the King Harry chain ferry which is 5 mins drive away.

There is a Spar shop 5 mins drive away that has fresh bread and local produce, a great butcher, and chef prepared ready meals if you're feeling too relaxed to cook.

There are 3 pubs nearby, the Old Quay Inn (1 mile walk), the Punchbowl and Ladle (5 min drive), and the Pandora Inn on the other side of the creek that is reachable by kayak or paddleboard in 20 mins from the Quay at high tide for a real adventure.

There are plenty of footpaths and walks (dog friendly) nearby, including to National Trust Trelissick House and Loe Beach.

We're also at the start of the Bissoe Cycle Trail from Devoran to Portreath. So if you have your own bikes you can cycle right to the North Coast mainly off road on the old mining trail. Bikes are available to hire at the Bissoe Bike Chain Cafe/Shop (5 miles away).
