Beautiful and walkable

Guests say this area is scenic and it’s easy to get around.
As you walk down Fore Street you may notice a curious street sign ‘Salubrious Place’ and it’s up this little alleyway that you’ll find this sunny cottage. The Bobbin is a light and spacious two - bedroom retreat right in the centre of bustling St. Ives. Occupying the first and second floors of an historic building, you’re seconds from sandy beaches, the Tate Gallery with restaurants, cafes, quirky shops and bakeries right on the doorstep.

The space
My partner and I are both designer makers here, in the far west of Cornwall and we bought the building five years ago. Since then we have carried out a complete refurbishment; new roof, new bathroom, new kitchen, new everything!

The rooms are situated over two floors with an entrance porch, kitchen diner and living room with two comfy sofas, smart TV (with Netflix) on the ground floor. Upstairs is a spacious double bedroom with king size bed, a smaller bedroom with bunk beds and the bathroom with shower and Bramley hand soap (which smells delicious).

All linen and towels are provided along with toilet rolls, tea, coffee, sugar and cleaning products. There is free wifi throughout and USB sockets in the bedrooms.

Outside there is a small sunny yard with a table and chairs and an outhouse for washing wetsuits and storing surfboards (if that’s your thing!)

Changeover day is Saturday for 7 night stays
Short breaks run from Friday - Monday or Monday-Friday
Check in time is 4pm
Check out time is 10am

Guest access
We recommend that guests walk to the apartment, however if you need to drop off luggage by car this is best attempted after 6pm when the street is quieter – especially during the school holidays when it gets very busy.

We can’t lie – parking is tricky!
There are several long stay car parks in St. Ives but they can’t be reserved in advance and tend to fill up quickly during the summer season. You can purchase a week long 'rover' ticket from the Cornwall Council website which gives you parking in all of Cornwall's council run carparks. The nearest car park to the Bobbin are The Island, the Station and Barnoon but you are most likely to find spaces at the leisure centre (Trenwith) or the Rugby Club (which you can book in advance and is very reasonable). You can book a private car parking space ahead of your visit at justpark - wherever you park expect a bit of a walk to your car, probably up hill!

Other things to note
As everything is new in the Bobbin we don't accept dogs - sorry!

The Bobbin is kept spotlessly clean by a fantastic local cleaning company but it does mean we are not able to offer early check-ins in the high season but may be able to in the off season.
