Absolutely fantastic and tranquil stay. Ryna and Koos were extremely hospitable and provided a warm and personable service. First class all around.

Ryna and her husband were outstanding hosts, who met us when we said we would be there, arranged dinner for us at short notice, and what a dinner it was. A beautiful steak as fresh as you can get, with veg, salad and roast spuds. Breakfast the next day was included in the price (dinner is not included but very reasonable). Again for breakfast we had plenty to eat and was all very tasty. Being on a working farm we had the goats coming up to the pool to say hello in the evening, which was pretty cool, and their two jack russels were regular visitors which was nice. The farm is set next to a beautiful bend in the river, about 8km from the nearest road which was ideal for us. Despite being 'out in the sticks' it's not hard to find. Put the coordinates in to (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) maps and it takes you there no problem, although do bear in mind it is a dirt/gravel track for about 8km. Overall this was a fantastic experience and we really appreciate the warm South African hospitality :)

Wonderful, peaceful, scenic guest farm in a special hidden away corner of the Western Cape. The possibilities for outdoor activities are endless. We had a 3 year old and 8 month old baby with us and they also enjoyed the great outdoors. The house is well equiped, and if we needed something it was easy enough to ask Kosie or Ryna for assistance. They were lovely hosts and always ready to assist and friendly with an amazing farm breakfast every morning. Many thanks for a great few days, Jacques Kriel

We had the most amazing time at Gourits River Guest Farm. The cottage was so cosy and rustic. It is over 100 hundred years old! The cottage is clean and comfy. The views from the cottage are spectacular. It was wonderful to watch the sun rise and set over the beautiful river. We watched the cows come home and the weaver birds build their nests. We heard the owls hooting in the evening and the goats playing. We loved the fact we were staying in a working farm. It was a fabulous experience for us and the children. We tried the most delicious honeycomb straight from the hive! What really makes this a perfect place to get away to is Ryna and Koosie. They are the perfect hosts. The farm has been in Koosie's family for generations and he is so knowledgeable. We learnt so much about farming and the environment from them both. Ryna cooked us the most wonderful supper (3 courses for 175 rand pp). Worth every penny. Home cooked South African food. And lots of it! And breakfast was also delightful. We were not expecting cooked breakfast. What a treat. Eating breakfast watching the farm come to life. We found a little piece of heaven at Gourits River guest farm and we wish would could have stayed longer. We will definitely return.

Very cute guest house, great hosts and amazing food. We really enjoyed our stay. However you have to be aware that you have 7km drive off-road. We did not know this and drove there in the evening when it was already dark (not the best condition!).

As you might read in the other comments the highlight of the stay are the hosts! We were welcomed warmly and had a great dinner together with them!! Unfortunately we were here in the dryest days, so de river didn't have much water in it, but the view was still breathtaking! Thanks a lot for a wonderful night Ryna and Koosie!!

We loved to stay at Gourits River Guest Farm because it is as charming as one presume from the pictures. At many details you can see, that the rooms are arranged with love. The place is very adventures especially for the kids (goats, dogs, sheep, lizards, countryside to explore, pool...) and Ryna and Kosie are a great host. We enjoyed especially the very 'lekker' and rich dinner as well as the interesting chats. We absolutely recommand this place when you love staying on the countryside.
