The main house with it's adjoining gite, Jacque’s gite sits in a slightly elevated position in the centre of the village of Saint Cybranet in the heart of the Périgord Noir region. Most of the regions main attractions are within a very short distance. Neighbourhood highlights

Saint Cybranet is nestled in the south west of France in the Dordogne department. We are right in the heart of the Perigord Noir which is the historic centre of the region.

The village resides by the river Ceou in the base of the valley and is surrounded by rolling hills and abundance of wildlife. It has a small church still in operation, A bio food store, Les Terrasses du Ceou Restaurant with a petanque pitch, a garage and a friendly local Maire. We are also right next to the village recreational ground so plenty of space for some football, or a game of tennis court.

Plenty of scenic local walks and cycle rides are right on our door step. The river Ceou is just a few minutes walk away, where families swim and picnic. No more than 5 minutes away by car are plenty of Chateaux the river Dordogne and historic towns to visit

Night food markets held every Friday during July and August

Hi I'm Jan and I moved to live permanently in the beautiful Dordogne region in August of 2020 with my Partner Nigel and my beloved dog Jack (now know as Jacques of course). We have a lovely old stone farmhouse with an attached 2 bedroomed gite and tobacco barn. I am also the proud owner of 20 Walnut trees producing a bounty of delicious nuts every year I have worked in hospitality for many years, starting out as a Chef, then running ski holidays, hosting chalets and ski guiding. More latterly running tours and driving coaches providing meals for the guests Since moving to France I find myself constantly developing new ideas that use our walnuts. You will be able to enjoy our Perigordian walnuts during your stay and possibly get to test out one of my latest walnut recipes. I am also looking forward to offering our guests breakfasts, picnic lunches to take for their days out and home cooked evening meals for you to enjoy with your friends and family The main farmhouse needed a major renovation and so Nigel set to re modelling and fitting new bathroom and creating a huge new kitchen/dining room. We then set to restoring many of the original floors and every room was redecorated from top to toe and many pieces of furniture were given a facelift. We are now ready to welcome guests My dog Jack a Sussex cocker spaniel, spends most of his time hiding shoes in the garden, searching for fish in the river and takes charge when his is with me in our kayak. He is also a dedicated tourist and loves to pose for a picture so you will be able to spot him visiting many of this spectacular regions places of interest with us. we are looking forward to hosting our guest either in Maison Jacques the main house or in Petit Jacques our next door gite
