My Turkish friends asked me to write this because they felt this experience did their country a disservice. I'd say avoid this place. They don't care and just want your money. If you don't mind that (though I think even those that just want a place to sleep will mind the noise), then it's in a pretty convenient location in the center of the touristic Sultanahmet district. Pros- -Location. - 15% discount at an overpriced but tasty restaurant (that being said, some of the perks mentioned in previous reviews seem to vary. I was given bottled water and toilet paper after complaining about the bathroom cleanliness halfway through the trip at 2am in the morning. Was told to buy my own water beforehand.) Cons- -Hygiene. There was a cigarette butt and ash on the floor. Some type of pond algae that was in a pool in the tiles around the toilet and there were half a centimeter long worms wriggling in it. I killed them with bleach and we mopped up the pond algae. - Sukru did not always respond to communications or make any effort to contact us. I had to keep asking for him when we arrived ('he'll be here later' was the response) then finally found him in the evening preparing to play music in one of the local restaurants. - Sukru did not turn up to check us in. The guy who did was a restaurant employee who was nice but didn't know much so we couldn't get the air-con working for half our trip (there was a heatwave). We did not feel like we could rely on him or that we were welcome to contact him. - Sukru assured us of amenities such as a hairdryer (which stopped working after the first day) or the noise not continuing after 12am (actually it frequently was BLASTED after 2am). - There's a business operating higher up in the same building so if you want to lie in you can expect to be disturbed. - One of the restaurant reps from the restaurant below made unwanted advances on my female travel companion. He claimed to want to live in 'the US or UK'. This made us feel quite unsafe and uncomfortable. - I noticed that the electricity turned off at one point in the trip in the night as well. I don't know when it came back on because I gave up and went to sleep.

We had a couple of issues with our stay. The flat wasn't very clean, especially the floors. And Sakru was very difficult to get a hold of. I asked about how to get into the flat but never received a response and had to figure out that the guys in he restaurant downstairs (who were very friendly!) could let us in. Similar situation when we were leaving, I never got a response about where to leave keys and no one was around the restaurant at the time we left for the airport so we had to guess at where to leave them and let Sakru know. All that being said, it is a very inexpensive place to stay. It's also very near the tram and within walking distance to many major attractions in the old town area of the city. If you decide to stay, maybe just be proactive about asking about check in and check out several days before you leave.

The location is just great, near to main attraction in SultanAhmat. people there are very friendly. Just the issue with the cleaness of the toilet.

Good place. Easy access to the attraction. Easy to find the place. Just its a bit hard to communicate with the host and need to wait for quite a while for the host to respond. Overall good experience.
