Santina is the perfect getaway from the hustle and bustle of life! Positioned in a field behind our farmhouse, the shepherd hut is surrounded by farm land. Guests can enjoy relaxing in the hot tub (** see 'details to note' re cost) or star gazing by the fire pit under skies that are not interrupted by streetlamps before retiring to the cosiness of the hut which is heated by a log burner.
Lots of lovely local walks. Easy access to the A14 & A1 and perfect location for exploring local villages.

The space
Santina is a self-catering shepherd hut that sleeps 2 in a double bed. Inside it has a 2 ring gas hob, toaster, under counter fridge with a small freezer compartment for ice. The kitchen area is well equipped with saucepans, frying pan, utensils, plates, dishes, cutlery etc. Please note that there is no oven!

The bathroom has a toilet, shower, small sink and heated towel rail. All bedding and towels are supplied.

There is a small log burner for the cooler evenings - great for making Santina extra cosy!

Outside you will find a terrace with table & chairs and bench, a fire pit (that doubles as a BBQ) and a hot tub that is dedicated for the use of guests staying in Santina (please note, that there is an additional charge for the hot tub & it needs to be booked in advance - see 'Other details to note' below).

Guest access
Guests must park vehicles in the parking area and will access the site by foot using a dedicated track.
Once on site, guests are able to use the grass area around the shepherd hut.

SHOPS: Please note that there are no shops within easy walking distance...

HOT TUB: guests have exclusive use of the hot tub for an additional cost of £40 for stays up to 3 nights, and £60 for stays in excess of 3 nights (up to a maximum of 7). If booked in advance we will ensure that it is heated ready for guest arrival. (We recommend that you bring some flip flops with you or other suitable footwear for getting to & from the hot tub!)

LOG BURNER & FIRE PIT WOOD: all guests will have an initial supply of wood and firelighters to use; this can be replenished at a cost of £3 for firelighters and £10 for additional logs.

FIZZ on ICE: if you'd like a bottle of fizz on ice waiting for you when you arrive (or at any other point during your stay!), this can be arranged at a cost of just £18 per bottle (supplied by the Crafty Little Drinks Company).

BREAKFAST HAMPER: comes with fresh free-range eggs, sausages/chipolatas, bacon, a baguette/bread, butter & jam/marmalade - plenty for 2 people - £20.

PETS: we do not allow cats, however we are happy for guests to bring a small well-behaved dog (please note the additional charge of £30). Please be aware that while the space around the Shepherd Hut is ideal for a dog to run around, the internal space is not ideal for a large dog or more than one dog - we recommend therefore that you get in touch with us before adding a pet to your booking to check that your dog can be accommodated!
Please also note that there is livestock on the farm...

WiFi: there is no WiFi in the hut.

TENTS : there is plenty of room for a tent to be pitched close to Santina if a couple, for example, would like to bring their children. An additional charge of £20 a night per tent would be made for this. Please note that the tent occupants would have to use the bathroom facilities in the shepherd hut.

Neighbourhood highlights

We are located approximately 2 miles from both Great Staughton and Little Staughton; both villages have small shops** and pubs and are accessible by local footpaths (as well as road, of course!).
Slightly further afield is Kimbolton (home of Kimbolton Castle) which offers a small supermarket, two pubs and a handful of small shops, and St Neots which has plenty of pubs, supermarkets, restaurants and takeaways.
(** the shops have limited opening hours, especially at weekends, so we recommend that you either bring food supplies with you if you don't want to drive to St Neots to a supermarket).
