We had a large group for a wedding in downtown Santa Barbara, and the house was conveniently located, and perfect for a fun and entertaining experience. The decor was eclectic to say the least, the roof of the upstairs rotunda was great for evening drinks and a view of the Santa Barbara foothills, and the host communicated clearly and set us up nicely with no scheduling hitches. Great for a group of 10 or more. The upstairs bedrooms can get hot during the day with the sun streaming in.

Arilysse was communicative from the very beginning. The house was fantastic for a large group and a party we through one of the nights we were staying there. We had a hiccup or two -- the refrigerator did not work -- but Arilysse provided alternatives in a timely manner. The house itself did have some slight issues (one of the bedrooms had a mildew smell, the air conditioning didn't quite cut it). But all in all, it's a unique space with a ton of character that we all enjoyed very much and would certainly recommend.

Just had my wedding at Chateau Bellevue last weekend, and wow, what an amazing experience. The place is already gorgeous, throw in some nice outdoor lighting, some charming musicians, and you have yourself a magical wedding venue. Arilysse, Byria, and their staff were very responsive and attentive. They really went out of their way to help us feel like we were properly prepared to get married here. There were no problems during out stay, and when Paula came to clean up afterwards she was very accommodating of our cleanup crew as we worked to remove all the remaining wedding stuff. Would definitely stay here again. Anniversary maybe??

We rented Chateau Bellevue for 10 adult members of my extended family during my daughter's wedding weekend. We needed multiple bedrooms and bathrooms, as well as a site approved to hold a private post-wedding event and this listing fit our needs. The host was very responsive throughout the months preceding our stay and her staff was very responsive to a few needs that arose during our stay. The home is beautiful and elegant and yet comfortably lived in. We were very happy with our visit.

My group of ten friends were completely comfortable at Château Bellevue. The house is beautiful and conveniently located in Santa Barbara. I would recommend it to other who have a large group. Everyone I worked with were helpful and wanted to make sure we were comfortable. Be prepared to climb stairs.

While the photos of the property are stunning and definitely accurately represent the scale and grandeur of the house, when you actually spend time in the house, it's clear that it's less "antique style" and simply old. The doors all require extra manipulation to get them to work. The doors also have a weird (unmarked) feature that allows them to "tilt" back towards you if you open them in a different way. If you're not careful, the 50lb. glass door will smack you in the head when you try to open it. The furniture not only smells old but also must be protected at all times. Which would not be a problem if the owners provided adequate and simple means to protect it, but they expect you to go out of your way to find things such as coasters or table clothes for the tables. Note to the owners, if you want a table protected, simply put a protective covering over it before you open up your home to public guests. Additionally, we paid for 10 guests and had 10 guests stay in the house. Some rooms have extra twin beds in them, but we requested one of the beds be made in the common room (to allow the couple staying in that room their privacy). One night, one of the people in the couple was feeling sick and used the individual bed so as to not get his partner sick. When the owners and their staff saw that the bed had been slept in, they questioned us continuously as if we had committed a crime. I'm not sure if they thought we had an extra person stay in the house, but the owners did not take our word for it and questioned us to the point of harassment. I'm not sure what the deal is with this unit and its management, but the grandeur of the unit's photos and advertisements does not match with the true experience of the stay.

Response from Arilysse:
Bad faith! Typical person who bring more people and refuses to pay by telling all kind of lies. You had to invent a lot of what you wrote since none of what you said was told by any of our past guests. You said you brought one dog when you brought 2 dogs. You said you needed an extra bed for privacy when you used all extra beds for 2 extra guests and refused to pay for it. In the rules it says use the coaster on the antic furniture and they were there but you refuse to use them saying it was normal that the water stains the furniture. i will call this lack of respect and arrogance! People like you doesn't make you want to rent ; It is too bad because they are a lot of very nice people out there. Also people who came and enjoyed our home and loooooved it and were very thankful ( you are welcome to read the reviews again just to make sure you are not talking about somebody else with your all lies. You still have the chance to change and grow, do it!
