However, we will personally be available on phone and email at all times during your stay, to help you with all kinds of questions you may have.

The neighbourhood

Trastevere is part of the medieval center of Rome, which means all major monuments and attractions are within walking distance, and can also easily be reached by the public transport system. The neighbourhood is relatively quiet in the morning, but comes alive at night, with numerous bars and restaurants that attract tourists as well as romans, who have been coming to the area to dine for centuries. You’ll find trendy bars, as well as family run restaurants that have stayed practically unchanged since the 1950’s. But Trastevere also has its quieter side, with picturesque narrow streets, small piazza’s and a beautiful botanic garden. You’ll also find an open air food market, little shops, palazzi with artworks by Rafael and Caravaggi, the oldest church in Rome: S. Maria in Trastevere, known for its beautiful mosaics, plus the enormous Sunday flea market in Porta Portese.

Getting around

Trastevere is a limited traffic-zone, which means arriving by your own car is generally not the preferred way, although it is possible. Alternatively a driver pick up service can be arranged from the airport or train station, or you can arrive by taxi or public transport, which is easily available in the area.

Other things to note

Although located on a lively street the apartment is relatively quiet also at night, due to its position on the 5. floor, withdrawn from the façade. The terrace doors also keep all noise out when closed, but if you need total silence to sleep, and prefer to do so with windows open, this might not be the ideal place.

Margrethe's apartment is beautiful and relaxing and so centrally located that I could walk everywhere I needed to. Trastevere is a lovely neighbourhood with lots of character, bars and restaurants, and gelato shops! I would definitely stay again if in Rome again.

Lovely rustique apartment in charming neighborhood. The view, terasse and bedroom (w its own exit to the terasse) made our stay unforgettable. Margrethe was attentive, friendly and helpful. Worth to note is that the street below, although pittoresque and charming, is quite busy with lots of bars and clubs that are packed with partying people until late. Bring earplugs if you want to sleep w terasse door open, the apartment is at the top level so it gets quite hot otherwise.

Trastevere is great, laid back, creative and beautiful. And so is this apartment and so much more! Entering this place just makes you let out a big and loud sigh of relief, thanking your Lucky star that you found it. Beyond beautifully decorated, with a narrow but magical terrace, clean, tasteful and situated on the top floor in the corner of the building this is just the greatest place. Leaving it we told each other "now we Can't stay anywhere else when we go to Rome, Can't we?" No you can't!

Margrethe's apartment is lovely and exactly as described. It is flooded with natural light, is very comfortable and in a fantastic location in the heart of Trastevere with a narrow terrace, where we enjoyed morning coffee and breakfast in the sun. You can walk to the historic centre in 20 mins and the neighbourhood is charming with a maze of cobbled streets crammed with bars, restaurants and shops. The apartment is on the top floor and very quiet - you are not disturbed by any street noise at all. Margrethe is very helpful and prompt in responding to any queries and provides plenty of information on places to go and shops nearby. I would definitely stay here again.
